CHAPTER 49

JUNGKOOK's P.O.V.

I saw Mae Noona walked out. Jaden was about to follow but Bang PD-nim called him back and so I took the chance to follow her. When she got inside the elevator it was a perfect chance for me to talk to her. I saw how her eyes got wide when she saw me enter. She was about to walk out but I immediately pressed the close button and stopped her. I saw the panic in her eyes as she took a step back. I frowned. "We are not yet done talking, Noona." I claimed. "Wha...What is there to talk about? We are done talking." She asked while stammering. I looked at her and saw how nervous she is. I smirked as I come closer to her leaving only an inch between us. "Oh, we have a lot to talk about. But we can start with your letter." I stated before I brought out the letter Bang PD-nim gave to me earlier. 

Her expression suddenly changed as she stared at the letter I was holding. "So will you tell me, why you decided to leave without talking to me?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. She stared at my eyes sadly before she looked away. "Jungkook, can you please let it go?" She asked in a small voice. I frowned. "No. I don't want to." I answered. "Why did you decided on your own. I was willing to fight for you." I muttered. She looked at me with tears in her eyes. "Fight for me? You can't even fight for yourself. Jeon Jungkook, don't you understand? I did you a favor." She stated. My frown deepened. What is she talking about? Did she really think that leaving me is the best solution for our problems that time? Why didn't she talk to me about it? We could've figured it out together. I was about to reply when suddenly the elevator door opened and Mae Noona hurriedly walked away. I wanted to stop her but I accidentally bumped into one of the famous reporter in the country who was about to enter the elevator.

"Annyeonghaseyo Jungkook-ssi." He greeted but his eyes are on Mae Noona's retreating form. "Annyeonghasyeo Reporter Lee." I greeted back. "Aren't you going to follow her?" He asked as he pushed the open button of the elevator so that the door won't close while looking at me maliciously. I cleared my throat and smiled. "Oh, no! Our meeting just ended." I replied while trying my best to look nonchalant as possible but reporter Lee seemed unconvince. I wonder why he is only staring at me and not saying anything. There was a few moments of silence before he spoke again. "Well, aren't you getting out?" He asked. "I am going up again. This elevator just went down so don't tell you are going up again?" He asked and that's when I realized that I am already at the Ground floor. I cleared my throat to ward of the embarrassment before I stepped out of the elevator. "Well, see you around Jungkook-ssi." Reporter Lee said before the elevator door closed. 

I took a deep sigh before I walked out to the lobby to search for Mae Noona but unfortunately, she is already gone. I took my phone out and dialed her number but all I can hear is a busy tone. I ended the call and put the phone back to my pocket. I will try to call her again later. 

MAE's P.O.V.

I wiped my tears as it fell on my face as I hurriedly walked away from Jungkook as soon as the elevator door opened. I heard someone called his name so I am sure he wasn't able to follow me. I slowed down and carefully turned around. I breathe a sigh of relief when I didn't see Jungkook behind me. I bowed my head as I catch my breath. Gosh! Why did he have to confront me inside the elevator? I am not yet ready even though it has already been two years. Am I not ready or was I just scared of doing the same mistake as I did two years ago when I decided to stay with him? I hate to admit it but even after all these years I still love him.

My phone started ringing while I was walking towards the parking lot.  "Hello?" I answered while I was busy locating Jaden's car. "Where are you?" Jaden asked over the line. "In the parking lot." I answered nonchalantly. I heard him sigh over the line. "Okay, wait for me. I'm coming down." He replied. I didn't bother replying as I ended the call. I was about to put my phone back to my pocket but an idea come to me and so I opened the internet and searched articles about Jungkook. And right there and then the top news article I saw Jungkook's name. "Jeon Jungkook lead actor for an upcoming movie of the worldwide best seller "The Sweetest Escape" written by the famous writer, Ms. Mae Ramirez. This was confirmed by Big Hit Entertainment. The company also denied the rumor that Ms. Ramirez and Jungkook are in a relationship. It was..."
