CHAPTER 53

JUNGKOOK's P.O.V.

I chugged down the bottle of water I was holding to replenish the water I lost throughout our practice. It was honestly tiring. "Yah! Jungkook-ah, are you okay? Can you still keep up?" Jin hyung asked while bending forward and panting. I smirked at him. He is playing cool again. "Of course, hyung! Because I am still younger than you." I replied and that earned me a glare from him. "Ha! As if you will never reach this age! You will also grow old like me JK!" Jin hyung answered back. I chuckled as I walked away from him and sat on an empty chair.

I was busy watching the other members practice when I felt my phone vibrate. I took it out on my pocket and saw an unfamiliar number. I didn't answer it. It could be one of the stalkers. I was about to put it back on my pocket when I saw a text message. "Jungkook-ssi, this is Jaden. We need to talk. This is about Mae." I froze as I opened the message. I read it multiple times but didn't reply. What will I say? Is this the Jaden I know? Mae? Mae Noona? Why? What happened to her? I have successfully moved on through these years. What does he want now?

MAE's P.O.V.

"Are you out of your mind?" Yani yelled through the phone. She is currently on her honeymoon but I called her because I was really thinking of going to BTS's concert and I want to heart what she thinks of my decision. I want to see Jungkook even from afar. I sighed as I leaned my back on the floor to ceiling window in my office as I look at the ticket in my hand. "I know right. It will be stupid of me to go near him again after all these years." I replied drily.

I heard her sigh from the other end of the line. "But you already have a ticket, it will be a waste if you are not going." I froze and looked around my office. How did she know I already have a ticket?

"I.. I don't have a ticket. What are you even talking about?" I laughed awkwardly as I hid the ticket in my drawer. "Mae, stop lying to me and to yourself. I already talked to Jaden and he got that ticket for you. He said that maybe if you see him again and felt that you really don't love him anymore, he can have a chance to enter your heart." I took another deep breath before I sat back on my chair.

"That man loves you, Ely. Why don't you just forget about Jungkook and accept Jaden's feelings. He is a nice guy." I looked at the screen of my laptop and saw Jungkook's latest picture. I can feel a tear coming to my eye and so I immediately closed it and stood up. Maybe, Yani is right. Maybe, it's time to accept Jaden's feelings and move on from my first love.

"You are right! I will not go to the concert anymore. I don't want to rekindle old flames and maybe it's time for me to give Jaden a chance. I am sorry for interrupting your honeymoon. Kindly give my regards to your husband." After bidding each other goodbye, we ended the call. But instead of going back to my job and sat there staring at the ceiling wondering if this is the right decision. Why is it so hard for me to let go of Jungkook when it is impossible for us to be together? I sighed one more time before I closed my eyes and leaned on my chair. I am getting tired with my thoughts. I was slowly drifting off to sleep when I heard someone knocked on my door.

"Come in." I answered without opening my eyes. I heard the creak of the door when it opened but nobody spoke. I opened my eyes and was surprised to see Jaden's face a few inches away. I leaned away as reflex and because of that I fell on my chair backwards.

"Mae! Oh my God! Are you okay?" He immediately bent down to help me get up. "No worries! I am fine." I smiled as I stood up. "Are you sure?" He asked worriedly. I nodded as I put the chair back to its original position. I heard him sigh. I looked at him and smiled again. "Want to grab some dinner?" I asked and that made him freeze. He looked at me as if he heard something unbelievable. "What?" I asked feigning ignorance. "This is the first time you were the one who ask me for a date." He declared jokingly. I chuckled. "Of course, not!" I replied defensively but when I come to think of it, he is right. This is the first time I asked him first.
