CHAPTER 62

MAE's P.O.V.

"I'm sorry Mae Noona, it is all my fault. Please forgive me." Those words echoed in my head which made me open my eyes. I stared at the white ceiling for a moment trying to remember where I am. The last thing I remembered was the chaos in the airport and the wound that I got that I can't even remember how I got it and then it hit me. "Jeon Jungkook!" I called out his name as I sat up and looked around but the sudden pain in my lower abdomen stopped me from moving.

"Mae! You are finally awake!" My mom rushed over my side before she carefully placed me back on the bed. "You just woke up after three days. Don't stress yourself too much." She whispered as she lovingly caress my hair. Did she say three days? "What are you doing here, ma? Where is Jeon Jungkook? And did you say three days? I slept for three days?" I asked with disbelief. She slowly nodded at me to answer my last question but didn't say anything else. I want to follow-up the question but she suddenly stood up. "Wait here, let me call the doctor. They are all waiting for you to wake up. Especially, him." I followed my mother's movement as she went out of the room to probably tell the nurses that I am already awake.

A soft knock made me look at the door. I wonder who it is. "Come in." I answered in a hoarse voice. And that's when I realized how parched my throat is. Jaden came in with a basket of fruit in hand and a small smile on his face. "I am glad you are finally awake sleeping beauty." He muttered as he approached me. "How are you feeling?" He asked while looking at me from head to toe. I shook my head and chuckled. "I know I don't look as pretty as Princess Aurora so stop. Well, I feel like I have a hangover. My head is still a bit heavy and I feel like I just want to go back to sleep even though my mother said I have been asleep for three whole days." I muttered. "Can you please give me a glass of water? I am thirsty." I asked. He looked at me and nodded before he went to the table beside me and poured some water on an empty paper cup. "Here. What do you want to eat? I know you are also hungry." He asked and as if on cue, I felt my stomach grumble. "Hmmm, I want some samgyupsal, some ramen, some bibimbap, some ddokbukki, and some rice." I muttered listing the food I am craving to eat. Jaden looked at me then shook his head. "Well I guess that will have to wait. For now, I think this will do." I watched him get a bowl of some rice gruel from a paper bag which made me frown. "Why did you even asked?" I asked sarcastically which made him chuckle.

"By the way, Have you seen Jeon Jungkook? How is he?" I asked to keep the conversation going but Jaden froze and looked at me sadly. "Well, I haven's seen him for three days since you were brought here in the hospital." He said before his lips formed a thin line. I tilted my head in wonder. "Is he okay? Didn't the media attacked him? I hope he isn't hurt." I mumbled more to myself.

A loud thud made me look at Jaden curiously. "What was that?" I asked. He looked at me and I saw how the happiness left his eyes. "Mae! Can you please stop worrying about him? You are the one confined here in the hospital. You were the one who almost died and yet you worried about a guy who doesn't show himself here for three days." He muttered bitterly. I stopped talking and closed my eyes to suppress the emotions trying to surface. "He is probably on a tight spot." I muttered. I don't believe that Jungkook will stop from seeing me without reason. He wouldn't have gone to Palawan just to meet me if he has no feelings for me. I know he still loves me but there is a lingering feeling that makes me doubt what I believe.

"Mae, can't you see. He is not good for you." I looked at him as a tear fell from my eyes. "I thought he could make you happy but look at what happened the moment you two got together." He reasoned out exasperatedly but my ears turned deaf. Jaden was about to say something when the door of my room suddenly opened. My mother, a doctor, a nurse and my best friend Yani came in. Yani throw Jaden a cold look before she looked at me with a warm smile while she held up a plastic bag carrying my favorite fast food meals.
