It used to be a cute story. Where there are twins swapping places.

They make fun of people who couldn't tell who is who.

"Can you two stop?!" Ate Kimora shouted. "Khanarie! Kheilanie!"

We didn't listen to her. As if her nagging could stop us.

On the other hand, our parents are laughing back at us.

"Let them be, Mora. They are only playing." Mamá gestures her hand to lead Ate Kimora to move closer to her side.

I observe them. And I caught on to Mamá. I turn to Khana. Our minds click; we both run up to Mamá's embrace before Ate Kimora could.

"Hmph! You think I will be jealous? Do better!" Ate Kimora stick out her tongue before turning her heel away from us.

Khanarie and I giggled after being satisfied with Ate Kimora's disbelief.

Mamá scolded us, pinching our noses. "You little gremlins will be your big sister's headache."

"No, we won't!" We spoke in unison.

Papá shook his head while carrying Alora in his arms. Mamá laughs again, then asks us to back away.

I was confused. But Khana doesn't seem to mind it.

I made a duck face. Mamá took time to bring out two boxes. I reverted my face as she hands Khana and I each box.

"What is that?" Ate Kimora asks. She returns while hovering behind us. "Oh. You bought them those that we saw at the toy shop?"

"Yes," Mamá answered in delight. Papá motion closer to us, watching intently. "Open them, Khana. Khei."

Without a second thought, we unwrapped the gifts. My eyes bawled at the beautiful doll. Her cotton-like ballon dress making me jealous. I turn to Khana, excited to see hers.

"Ha? Why is yours different?" I reach for her doll; her dress is different. "Why is Khana's doll different, Mamá?" I ask again, tearing my gaze away from Khana's doll.

Papá spoke, "To tell you apart. You and Khana have different taste as well."

"But we look alike!"

"And you are both different in your own ways as well." He reaches a hand to pat my head, "Don't be teary eye, sweetheart. At least you can change your doll's clothes every time you wish. Unlike Khana's, you might see her doll beside the mud."

"No! This is mine!" I panicked and hugged my doll, keeping it away from Khanarie. They all laugh while I tear up.
