I read this a while ago (back when the translation wasn't even completed), bookmarked it, then forgot to review it. Not that it was forgettable, but i got busy with school and was too lazy to write.
Anyways, I loved the protagonists! ML is really one of the most unhinged and unique male leads I've read so far. He was not really the greenest flag (more like a yellow flag at worst), but his love for the FL was undeniable. Like, imagine waiting and searching for your ex for 3 years, only to find her already a zombie. And the fact that he did not know she kept her sanity and still made efforts for her stay with him. His mental strength is both strong and fucked I tell you.
As FL often thinks, "are you the zombie, or am i the zombie!?" chapter 6. His ideas/actions were just that absurd.
FL's antics were funny as well. Her inner monologues and how she bashes the ML made me holler. She complements his personality perfectly. Their dynamic may not be for everyone with how frequent they bicker and the violent reactions (mainly from FL), but I love it. I love stories where couples bicker like they're friends. They never got boring.
Anyways, not a critique but I noticed that there weren't really any recurring side characters, and when they did appear it wasn't that deep of an interaction. Not that it was a major problem since the leads have more than enough personality to keep me entertained, but it could have been a nice addition. I also wished there were more chapters or extras as the ending felt kind of rushed, which is a common theme for apocalyptic novels tbh. There were just some interesting plots that could have been explored further. Like, just short snippets would also do the trick.
So yeah, the story generally had a lighthearted vibe, but still left me feeling a lingering sense of unease and heaviness. Like, while I did not tear, my heart felt heavy at some scenes. Overall, a very enjoyable story!
