Yes, I am addicted to apocalyptic novels.

This novel was actually one of the main reasons why I prefer the hoarding (or slice of life moments) rather than action sequences. I first read this around 1-2 years ago, but haven't finished it completely since the translations haven't kept up.

Anyways, FL's missions requires her to act like a holy mother, which leads to cringey but hilarious situations. It honestly made me laugh out loud while questioning what I read. Yes, it can be somewhat convenient, but I didn't mind.

I liked FL's personality as it somewhat reminds me of myself. She is bubbly and easy going, but can also get emotionally distant from other people, often thinking in a logical (almost cold-hearted) manner. There were moments she surprised me with her line of thinking.

ML, on the other hand, looks cold but is actually more compassionate. He developed more of a personality as the novel went on. I liked how he was actually shown to be smart and perceptive, as seen when he quickly noticed the differences between the OG and the "fake".

I also liked the team, mainly ML's childhood friend as he brought so much positive vibes to the story. The others were OK, but lacked further development to make me feel as attached to them. Same goes with the side characters.

The romance department was not bad as well (honestly, the only thing that kept me going + ML's bestie). The beginning might seem a bit abrupt, but they developed more of a connection throughout the story (since FL got them commitment issues.) The bond they built was perfect.

Since the protoganists are too OP together, zombies were not a threat at all. However, this novel really showed the dark side of humanity. Some scenes were disgusting but totally believable for humans to do. The system was also there all throughout the novel (which is a rare thing tbh).

My only major complaint would have to be the pacing (a bit too fast for my liking). The author could have delved more into the plots, characters, and shit, so that the plot twist would not be as surprising as it had been. A few extras would've also been nice. Instead, there were a few plot holes unexplored when it ended.

That being said, it was still a fun read. A chill adventure in an apocalyptic world. Try it!
