Everything, absolutely everything from that night and mainly my interactions with Yoongi were making me confused and I didn't want to enter a new year in that mental state.

I put my phone back in my coat's pocket and went back to the back of the house, where everyone was still standing.

I met Dirk and Timo, who were further away from the larger group and realized that they were smoking a joint. As soon as I approached them, Timo held out his hand to me, offering me the cigarette, which I promptly took.

"Should you smoke?" The voice came from Dirk, who was beside me.

"I think so. Nothing moderate is bad, really." I shrugged and raised the cigarette to my mouth.

"I hope this is true."

"Relax, Dirk," Timo gave his friend a little push. "It's safe for her in here with us, let her enjoy it."

I smiled at him and let the smoke escape from my lips.

After some time there with them, I started to feel the effects of the joint and felt my chest cold, my head light and their voices far away. I knew that was enough.

I went into the house and got a glass of water, before going back outside and settling on one of the loungers, watching all my friends and some strangers having fun.

The size of the fire seemed more controlled now and Evi, Maud and Tulip danced close to it to a song that Yoongi was directly playing from his phone into the house's sound system. He danced with them.

Grietje and her friend were in the furthest lounge chair from the group, the same in which I had spoken to Yoongi earlier.

I noticed Lotte coming towards me and I moved a little to allow her space to sit next to me.

"How's your night?" She asked me, placing her legs parallel to mine.

"Good. Your boyfriend didn't want me to smoke weed."

"Did you smoke? How are you feeling now?" She studied my face.

"Calm," I sighed.

"Then I'll take the opportunity to ask you what I asked you a few days ago and you didn't answer me."

"What?"

"What's going on with Yoongi?" Her eyes burned on my skin, but I still didn't have an answer for her.

"I don't know?"

"What did you talk about earlier?"

"When?"

"He arrived right after you and came to meet you outside. I saw you smoking together." Her curiosity was uncomfortable.

"Ah, yes. He had been wanting to tell me a story for some time now and I decided it was a good time for me to hear it."

"Did he say he likes you?" Her voice was low and at that moment it was practically inaudible.

"What?!" I exclaimed in surprise and she pulled on my arm, forcing me to speak quietly too. "No, he wanted to tell me that he understands what I am going through... with my anxiety disorder and such." I didn't feel comfortable sharing with her a story that wasn't mine. "Why do you think he would say he likes me?"
