The day I feared so much had arrived.

I got up without any desire to face the world and decided to dedicate the time I would spend having breakfast in a longer bath.

I dressed up more than usual. I wanted to deceive all my coworkers by pretending I looked and was feeling great, but I knew that my cover would soon be discovered. Soon they would know that I still can't handle going back there and I feared that I wouldn't be transferred to another production for a second time when they found out.

Before leaving home, my phone beeped and it was a message from Yoongi. He was wishing me good luck.

I sighed. I missed him. He had been working nonstop for just over a week. Some Korean entertainment company ordered some tracks from him for a very high amount of money for a new boy group, I don't understand anything about this subject, but apparently it was something irrefutable, and as he already had other demands, so as not to leave anyone hanging, he was working hard. Him and Dirk, actually.

The path I took there, the same one I did every day, was dragged. The physical effort did not help to calm my mind. I breathed in deeply after securing my bike in front of the new studio block and walked towards the entrance door.

I went in and went straight to find the editor in chief who had asked me to join the team. I found Maria in the newsroom, next to an empty workstation that I assumed would be mine.

"Roos, you're here" she interrupted the conversation with another employee and stood up as I approached.

"Good morning Maria." My voice came out low, but she heard me.

"It is good to have you with us again." Her smile was sincere, but it was of no use to me.

"Thanks. Is this my station?"

"Yes. You will be working here now." She moved away from the table, giving me space to place my bag on it. "I believe Trieneke told you that we needed you because Nora is no longer with us..."

"Yes, she told me."

"This is Jaap, he will be your review partner. He came to our team after you were transferred."

She pointed to the man she was talking to when I arrived. He turned to look at me for the first time after his name was announced.

His clear green eyes looked at me from behind thick black-framed glasses and I couldn't see much of his face, which was covered by a long ginger beard, the same color as his orange hair. His tattooed arms gave him a rebellious look, but his expression was sweet.

He stood up to greet me and I had to look up to maintain eye contact.

"Hi, Roos, right?" He held out his right hand and I took it.

"That's right. Nice to meet you, Jaap. " I said and a smile appeared on his face.

"The pleasure is mine, thank you for coming to save me. I imagine you were doing well in the other production."

"Anywhere is more peaceful than daily news, right?" I responded by ignoring the fact that the editor in chief was right there.

"Good. I will let you two work." She made herself known. "Roos, nothing has changed since you left. Jaap will guide you now at the beginning, but I trust that you will soon be at your pace."

With that she left. I sat on the chair next to Jaap and he guided me through some processes and informed me about the agenda for today's edition.

It didn't take long and I was used to the new material that I would work with from then on.

I sighed deeply and stretched my neck. I looked to the side and Jaap was focused on his work. I grabbed my bag, took out a cigarette and lighter from inside it and headed outside.

Until now everything was under control. Maria had been quiet on my arrival, but she always was. Jaap seemed capable and maybe he really would be a good colleague to work with.

I texted Yoongi saying that so far the morning was quiet, but I didn't wait for an answer.

I was eating my salad at my table when Jaap arrived with a cold sandwich.

"Hi Roos, are you going to eat here alone?" my silence invited him to continue "normally we eat there in the pantry, don't you want to join us?"

"Thanks, Jaap, but I prefer to eat alone."

"Ah! I was going to invite myself to sit with you if you didn't want to go to the pantry..."

"I'm not really in the mood to talk, but if you want to stay here, feel free to do so."

I tried to be a little more sympathetic than in my previous answer and he accepted my proposal. We ate in silence until I got up for another cigarette.

I returned to the table with a cup of coffee and returned to the endless texts. The amount of work compared to producing a children's program is enormous. I was no longer used to it, but I preferred to fool myself that by the end of the week this new volume would no longer make me so exhausted.

When the work finally ended, I got up and went outside as if I needed to escape. And I really needed it.

I was smoking beside my bike when Jaap approached wishing me a good night, a key ring in his hands. I had completely forgotten to say goodbye to him.

As he walked away from me, towards the parking lot in front of that block, I assessed his figure better. He was a tall man, at least a neck taller than me, a woman six feet tall. His style was exactly the one that made my head turn and his beard was inviting. He was an attractive man. Definitely.

I shook my head away from that thought and stubbed out my cigarette with the sole of my shoe.

I arrived at the PH and smiled when I saw Yoongi waiting for me next to the bike rack. He kissed my lips as soon as I got off the bike and I sighed against his mouth.

This was exactly what I needed.
