If you liked this fanfic, read Tied to the Dream, another Bakugou Fanfiction, this time a timeskip, in a quirk world available on my profile alongside Beneath the Bleachers, a quirkless, basketball alternate universe.
After the worst quirk war in history, Hawk's little sister, Takami Y/N has graduated from UA, and has come to the realisation that being a hero might not be what she really wanted. But the new commission won't be happy with that, seen as her older brother is the face of the new society.
Because of her indecisiveness, Y/N is tasked to partner up with a Pro Hero Dynamite in Musutafu, forcing her to a decision she wasn't sure she wanted.
Initially unhappy with the decision made by the head of new commission, Bakugou Katsuki does his best to understand his new partner, and despite her indecision, he pushes her to her limit so that she could make sense of the world she had been apart from so that somehow, he can prove to himself and others he's not what the papers say.
But as rumours rise as the same time taboo feelings do, will they suppress their true intentions or will they be true to themselves despite the eyes of the world looking down at them?
1 / GRADUATION
"For once, please, little sis, listen to your superior."
Her brother's voice was absolutely jarring to listen to. Takami Keigo's casual tone didn't match the message he was trying to convey to Takami Y/N.
She flicked her hair over her shoulder, sinking into a sofa in the UA dormitory living room. Y/N remained on her phone, swiping away at the videos that were made to ruin her brain. She thought pretending her brother wasn't right beside her talking at her was the best way to get him to leave her alone before she walked across the stage to receive her academic achievements.
"Y/N."
Keigo huffed like he was twenty-two, like when he'd look after Y/N after the old Hero Public Safety Commission told him that all her other agents were out on missions and no one could look after the ten-year-old girl she'd brought from nowhere.
It was always difficult to get across to Y/N. Y/N saw him more as an uncle, and she had long ago stopped using traditional honorifics to address him. "If you are going to place me in another hero's home to watch an in-person get-ready-with-me, I'll scream out loud that you're a pervert who snuck in here and get you kicked out."
Another swipe, another video. Another second of ignorance, another second of Keigo's patience being tested. Another moment of realisation that Y/N just wanted to be done with school and wish used on wanting to be wealthy near a beach. Three years of being unsure was more than enough, and Keigo wasn't helping by breathing the career society wanted for her down her neck.
'Your brother helped the war—what do you plan to do in his place? Will you be opening up your agency too? Like he did when he was your age?'
'With your quirk—Angel's Insight—will you be more underground and investigative or will you want to rise in the ranks with those such as number one Pro Hero Lemillion?'
"I want to sleep," Y/N huffed, wiggling her toes within her fluffy red slippers. "And these looked like your wings. Coincidence?"
"You're so funny," he replied sarcastically. "You've got a new assignment, by the way. Courtesy of my brilliant new council."
Y/N turned her phone off, dreading Keigo's next few words. She hoped it was one of the lesser-known heroes that she'd be partnered up with.
