Chapter 3

We arrived at the Pierce the veil tour bus.  It was  amazing.  I wasn’t expecting such a big bus.  There was a  nice big  lounge in the back with comfy couched and  a flat screen, then the  bunks and bathroom. With a shower.   Moving forwards there was a  small kitchen and another seating area with an even bigger tv and game consuls.

We all piled in and picked a bunk.  Lucky me, because it was my  first tour I got  top. Cause  know you, a 5'3 person  could  really enjoy  hopping in and out of the top bunk.  Across from me was  Jaime, under him was Vic then Tony.  Mike  was  under me.  Which I knew he picked only to hit my bunk and annoy me at night.  Yes he was also like  annoying brother.

Everyone was settled and the buses where off,  we were on the road all day tomorrow so the guys decided to celebrate hard tonight.

“Here’s to Warped tour,  a summer full of bad ass shows, parties and just  plain craziness.. Oh and also that we get to share it with the one and only Tammy Miler!”  Jaime raised his beer, giving a  toast.

“CHEERS”  we all said at  once.

We all played a few rounds of beer pong  to get this party going.

“Guys lets have a sing a long!!” Jaime screamed.

“Im sooo down!!” I screamed back, I loved to sing, or dance. If I was sober and you asked me I would never do it. Not even the guys heard me sing before. But today I was drunk.

Vic and Tony had the acoustics and Mike grabbed his drum pad,  while Jaime and  I grabbed bananas as mics.

“Okay wait, what are we going to jam too?”

“MICHEAL JACKSON” Jaime  yelled into his banana mic.

We all rocked out to Beat it and  dyed of laughter at the end. I was still self conscious about singing too loud so Jaime sang  most of it.

“Tam, want to hear some of our new songs for the tour?” Vic asked. I nodded and sat down,  I only  knew one of the new songs they were planning to play which was  Hold on till May. The rest I heard a few times in their basement.  Normally I would  know all the lyrics and  sing along but when they were writing this album, I had exams and had to focus on school.

The guys  played  Hell above,  Bestios, bulls  in Bronx, Stain glass eyes and colour full tears.   I bounced along to the songs. I always enjoyed having my own private concert.

Lastly Vic  played  Hold on till May.

If I were you, I'd put that away.

See, you're just wasted and thinkin' 'bout the past again.

Darlin' you'll be okay.

And she said,

I wasn’t sure  if it was because  I was  plastered  but as soon as  Vic finished  “And she said”  I couldn’t help but  belt out the next part.

"If you were me, you'd do the same.

'Cause I can't take anymore.

I'll draw the shades and close the door.

Everything's not alright, and I would rather..."

This made the guys stop and stare. I opened my eyes slowly feeling my cheeks start to burn. I didn’t think I was that  bad of a singer but I guess I was  drunk.

“Sorry” was all I managed to say in  a small voice.

“Sorry for what?” Jaime  said in a serious face. “That was  FRIGGEN AWESOME”  now smiling like a crazy.

“Who knew Tam had that  kind of voice in her?.”  Mike added.  Looking over at Vic who was still staring at me.  Mike gave him a nudge and  Vic shook his head coming back into reality.

“Finish the song with me?.”    I felt my  whole face burning up. This was my first time singing in front of them. Sober I couldn’t do what I was  doing now.

Vic and I finished the song.  There was this awkward silence between all of us.

“MORE BEER??!”   I yelled.

“MORE BEER!!” they yelled in sync

The next morning I woke to a pounding headache,  I noticed the bus wasn’t moving anymore so I slide  down from my bunk.  My  feet  hit the  floor causing a sharp pain in my head and the world to spin a bit.

Slowly after  focusing again I walked to the  kitchen to grab water and  look for some pain killers.

“Sleep well?” Tony sacred me, I didn’t notice him sitting at the table eating cereal.

I sat down  across from him.

“I don’t even remember  falling asleep.”

“That’s because you pasted out in the back. You told us you were going to get more beer and never came back.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at myself.  That was something I would do.  Tony  laughed too.

“Vic found you  put you to bed.”  there was a pause , I really couldn’t picture him lifting me into my bunk. We were almost the same height, but then again Vic had nice arms.  Yes I notice,  best friend or not .  I am a girl.

“You have a pretty voice, I think you should perform with us.”   that was not what  I expected to hear.  I couldn’t do what they did.

“Thanks but I don’t think I can. Im so shy”

“Non sense you don’t think I don’t get scared, or the others?”

I couldn’t answer that, obviously everyone dose, but I just couldn’t, I swore I wouldn’t sing in front of  people after my father passed. Last night was a mistake.

Just then  Mike and Vic walked in with a tray of  coffees.

Mike slid in beside me and  placed a coffee in front of me.

“Hey rock star, how are you feeling?”

“ Im better then before.  Tylenol is my new best friend” taking a  sip of this  warm heavily drink.

“Hey,!  I thought I was your best friend!?”  Vic  pouted  as he poured himself some cereal too. Sitting down to join us.

“You  don’t take the pain away darlin”  I cooed.

“Oh baby ,   let me show you how I could take that pain away”  he sang back.

Both Mike and Tony made a disgusted face.   That was how Vic and  I joked around.  The guys were used to it, outsiders would think differently.

Later on the  guys sat around and talked about the tour.  I  decided to  step outside to stretch my legs for a bit.  Finding a quiet spot behind the  bus  to do a few  yoga moves to clear my mind.

I  taught  a few yoga classes to help pay for my  school tuition. Since my  other job was  mainly for groceries and  keeping my mom and I in the house.  I planed on opening my own studio one day.
