It's finally after-school, and also. Thank God It Is Friday.

"Hey." Thandi says next to me. I look at her.

"Wassup?" I ask.

"I'm just tired as hell. Been one hell of a long week." She says then I nod my head.

"Nhe?" I say.

"Yah. Anyways plans for today?" She asks.

"Nothing much man. Will just probably do my homework so I can be free for the rest of my weekend." I say.

"Yah. Same." She says.

We get to the tuckshop and sit by the bench. "So vele vele today you didn't tell me I look beautiful." She says then I laugh.

"You know nhe. I was thinking it. I just didn't know how to say it." I say then she smiles and rolls her eyes.

"But yaz uyaz'feela." I say then she laughs.
(But you feel yourself, you know that?)

"Vele. If I don't feel myself who's gonna feel me?" She asks then I bite my lip and make eye contact.
(Vele - as I should)

"Me?" I say then she looks at me and when it finally got it she widened her eyes.

"Get your head out of the gutter." She says hitting me then I laugh.

"You so stupid." She says then I laugh.

"But are you surprised that's what I thought about?" I ask.

"No. But its the last thing I would ever think about." She says.

"Guess some of our minds think faster than others." I say then she shakes her head.

"Let's go." I say then we stand up.

"Are you walking home?" I ask.

"Yep." She says then I nod my head.

I get a call from my mother than answer.

Aviwe. I'm at your school, uphi?
(Uphi - where are you)

I was about to leave.

Okay. Come to the car khe. I want you and your dad to go to the barber now. Otherwise you'll never go.

I hang up then look at Thandi.

"So, I'm sure you heard my conversation. So you want a ride?" I ask.

"Please." She says letting out a sigh of relief.

"Sham. You really tired." I say.

"Yah, and as soon as I finish the homework I'm sleeping." She says.

"Yoh. Some of us have gym and boxing." I say then she laughs.

"Haike. You did that to yourself." She says then I look at her.

"Wooow." I say then she laughs.

"What. You not forced to do all that. Especially on a Friday, so you doing it to yourself." She says then I just shake my head.

"Guys go get dressed. I'm taking you guys out today." My dad says.

Before anything else the first question I had to ask, "So are we underdressed?" I ask then he looks at me.

"Yes actually, though your mothers over dressed." He says then my mother gives him a look.

He smiles then tries to kiss her on her cheek but she moves. "Please dress semi formal nyana." He says then I laugh.

"Ahhh. Kodwa Tata." I say then he laughs.

"Don't kodwa Tata me. For the first time you were acting up and you've never spoken to me like that. So maybe I was the one in the wrong and I want to know what made you so angry so I can fix it and make sure I don't do it again." He says then I widen my eyes.

"Wait, you serious?" I ask.

"Yes. I don't like when we fight." He says then I nod my head.

I spray and moisturise my hair and brush it. I grab my wallet and phone then go downstairs.

I sit by the dining room table and wait for my parents. I get up and go to the music room. I connect my phone to the speaker and play Changes by Pleasure P then go back to the dining room table.

My parents come down minutes later looking fire.

"Okay. Okay. I see you." I say looking at them.

"You don't look to bad yourself." My mother says then I smile.

My mother is wearing a navy blue dress with black heals and my father is wearing a blue shirt with a few top buttons unbuttoned, blue jeans and black shoes.

"Let's get going." My dad says. We go to the garage and he unlocks his Bentley.

"How fancy is this place we going to?" I ask looking at him.

"Better than any place I've taken the both of you." He says then I look at him.

I wonder what my mother did or said to him to have him acting like this, but I love it. We get in the car then drive off.
