My friends and I along with the girls are all at my crib and for the first time since we turned eighteen our rents were allowing us to drink as we were celebrating all of us passing matric. We are gonna receive our results a few hours from now even though we started celebrating hours ago, we all know we did hella well so why wait.
Our parents were outside and we were in the game room just chilling. More than anything this little celebration is for finally finishing high school cause wow we are shit tired of school.
We are sitting around a circular couch and just chatting. "Guys I have a lil game we can play, who's up?" Aya asks then we look at her waiting for her to continue but she also just looks at us.
"What game?" Kamva asks in a obvious tone. Like really.
"Oh, truth or drink." She says then Kamva and I look at her and smile.
"This is gonna end in tears. Well for the two of you." Siya says to me and Kamva then we look at each other.
"And then?" Kamva asks then I shrug my shoulders and I shake my head. But she could be right though.
"Okay. I have nothing to hide anyways." I say then my friends laugh. I look at them a bit offended.
"Bruh, we know you. Come on." Zuko says.
"Well, I do too." Thandi says then I nod my head.
"Yeah, you know what she allows you to know, but let's play." Aya says.
"Bruh, you and shade. All of us here know what we are told. The truth finna come out today." I say then Aya, Zuko, and Siya look at each other then to me and shake their heads.
"Yeah, no. I'm not playing." They say at the same time then I die. I knew this was gonna flop.
"And let's do it for the fans too as a matter of fact. We can post our second video on YouTube." Akhona says disregarding what Aya and the others said.
"We.. we.. we not playing." Aya says shaking her head.
"Ye... Yea.... Yes you are." Akhona says nodding her head.
"Uh, I'll go get the camera." I say standing up then Thandi follows me. We go up the stairs and before we can leave Kamva says, "get more drank."
"Vodka or gin or whiskey?" I ask.
"Vodka." She says then we get out and go up to my room to get the camera.
"Ooo, this is gonna end badly." I say then Thandi sits on my bed as I go into my closet.
"Wena. Are you hiding anything?" She asks then I stay quiet. She gets in the closet.
"Are you hiding anything?" She asks then I get the camera.
"Let's go." I say walking past her but she pulls me back.
"Aviwe." She says looking at me.
"I hope not." I say thinking.
"I hope so too." She says then I widen my eyes and she walks off. I follow behind her then she goes with the camera downstairs whilst I go outside.
"Tata, we gonna play truth of drink nhe. Mama won't complain?" I ask.
"Onele." He calls my mom then walks away.
Well thanks alot. My dad doesn't really involve himself in anything that will cause him and my mother to argue or fight anymore cause if y'all remember the day him and I were drinking and he denied it to my mother, and he said there was no camera.... Well let's just say she's not stupid. Had to sleep and had to take care of the baby for a whole week. Not the best experience for him.
"Mama, can we play truth or drink. We doing it for YouTube." I say.
"What's that?" She asks.
"Well, a question is asked then if you don't wanna answer it, you take a shot but if you answer it, well life goes on." I explain then she shakes her head.
"No, you guys will be drunk. Especially you, Kamva and Aya and we have dinner reservations at Kream for later on." She says then I lick my lips.
"We'll dash it ke mama." I say then she shakes her head.
She calls the other rents and tells them what I asked and they all say no. I just join my lips and nod my head.
"Ayt." I say then leave. Well there goes that.
I go to the others but just grab a few beers and ciders and champagne.
"So guys. No video no game. Our parents said no." I explain sitting down next to Thandi.
"They know it's entertainment for the people right?" Siya asks then I nod my head.
"Yeah, they don't care. And anyways that's not why they said no. Its cause we gonna have dinner later tonight and we have to be sober. Well tipsy cause we still gonna drink." I say pointing at the drank in front of us.
"Ahhh." They say sitting back then I nod my head.
"Yeah." We chill and drink then minutes before our results come in our rents call us upstairs. We leave and go up.
"Your results will be in in five minutes so let's all wait." Siyas mom says then we sit around the dining room table whilst our parents stand. For some reason, we nervous though we know we did well. Crazy.
We put in our information and wait and wait and wait. We are all quiet and we done been sitting there for over twenty minutes. I get up to go get some water from the kitchen but as I get up I get a notification and so do the others.
I sit down and open my results. I stand up and throw my phone on the couch. "Yessir!" I scream and everybody starts celebrating.
I pick Thandile up and spin her around. I kiss her. "Okay, there's a room right upstairs." Kamva jokes then I throw her with a ball that was in my pocket and we laugh.
We hug our rents then go outside and we all just jump in the pool. Well besides our parents.
Our parents come join us outside. "Well we have a surprise for all of you, because you passed. But think about it, before you all just agree." Kamvas mom says then we look at her.
"You guys know where you applied, but there is a specific university you all got accepted to." My dad says.
"If you guys agree, we will get you an apartment you all can stay in, but that's only if you go to this varsity." Thandi's dad adds.
We look at each other and back to them. "Which one is it?" I ask.
"UCT." Zukos dad says then I arch my eyebrows.
"I anyways wanted to go there so that's my decision." I say shrugging my shoulders but inside I'm fuckin jumping. Everything is going so damn well it's crazy.
"Yeah, same." My friends say then we dab each other up.
"It was our plan from the beginning. From primary, go to Souberfield high together, and end off with UCT together." Kamva says.
"Yessir." Siyas dumb ass says then we look at her and laugh.
"Okay, ladies?" My mom asks then I realise they have not answered. We look at them then they shake they heads.
"I wanted WITS." Thandi says then the other girls agree with her, we look at them confused.
