I walk up towards the gate. I see my friends by our usual bench and go there.

"Oh, why you back?" Siya asks.

"Long story." I say then sit on the table of the bench.

"Then cut it short." Aya says.

"Okay. I'm single." I say then they all look at me.

"How is that even possible?" Kamva asks.

"What you mean, how is that possible? I'm single." I say.

"When did you guys break up." Zuko asks.

"Today. Right now." I say.

"Is it cause of your father?" Aya asks.

"Fuck no." I say then they look at me.

"Okay. Can you tell us what happened?" Siya says.

"I could, but I don't feel like talking about it." I say.

"Ayt. So now you available?" Aya asks then I shake my head.

"Nope. I'm done with girls for now. I'm good with that shit." I say then they stare at me.

"What? One needs a break. Or am I wrong?" I ask.

"No, but YOU take a break from girls?" Zuko asks then I laugh.

"Okay, not from girls. Just from dating." I say, then they let out a sigh of relief. What the fuck.

"Oh, eh I thought she took you off the market." Aya says.

"Guys, just cause you wanna fuck around doesn't mean I want to too." I say.

"But you already said you will. So it's settled." Siya says then I shake my head.

"Where's Kamva?" I ask looking around then they gesture they're shoulders in an "I don't know" expression. She was literally with us seconds back, what the fuck.

"She didn't say anything." Aya says then I shake my head.

"Yo yo yo." Aya says hitting my arm multiple times then I look at her.

She doesn't stop and I look at her. "Bruh stop." I say.

"Look at that." She says showing me the gate. We all turn our heads at the same time. Four girls walk in through the gate and damn are they hawt. One of the girls look in our direction and smiles then looks away and carries on walking.

I look at that specific girl and scan her from head to toe.

She has plum boxbraids that reach her ass. She's wearing blue skinny high waisted jeans, white crop top and a black and red checkered shirt, but with the buttons unbuttoned. She completed the look with red and black Jordans.

I stare at her till she disappears around the corner.

"Besides Olwethu, who are they?" I ask then they nod. I already know Olwethu, cause she was in my primary school, she's dating Kamva, and she is my friend, kinda.

"The one with the yellow braids is Lisa, then the one with the purple braids is Asanele, then the one with the plain black is Olwethu and the last one I know with the plum braids is Thandile." Siya says then I nod my head.

"And the other one?" I ask.

"I don't know. Tried approaching the girl with red braids, then she told me she's taken. I didn't have time for such arrogant shit." Zuko says.

"Same with me bruh. Time she's foward. Cause I wasn't tryna date or fuck her. Just wanted to be friends." Aya says then I laugh.

"I think your approach was off." I say. I look away for a second and see those group of girls again.

"You know my approach is smoother than yours." Aya says then I laugh.

"Okay. Let's bet. If I can approach those girls and get her tens you give me R500. And if that fails I'll give you R500." I say then she stretches out her hand.

We shake on it then I get up and walk towards the girls.

Aya POV

"Y'all think she's gonna succeed?" Siya asks looking at the others.

"Most probably. You know how many people feel her in this school." Zuko says.

"Yeah. But that girl is a hard nut to crack." I say.

"Shhh shhh." Zuko says then we all look at Aviwe work "her magic", or whatever that is.

I see the girl interacting with her, but at the same time ignoring her. I deadass hope this doesn't work. I don't have R500. It's fucken January. Who has money after the festive season.

I see her pointing towards us at some point then I see her handing the girl her phone and dammit I know I've already lost.

"Seems like you've lost Aya." Siya says.

"She could've given her fake numbers. Maybe the name she gave her was fake too." I say. It's possible. In South Africa, nothing is impossible, especially with these huns.

She gives them all hugs and comes back a few minutes later.

"So?" Siya asks looking at her. I look up at her and see her looking at me.

"First of all, Aya. You owe me two things." She says then I look at her confused.

"What you mean?" I ask.

"Oh, so I got her numbers, so you owe me R500." She says then I roll my eyes.

"And what's the other one for?" I ask.

"Oh that. I saw how you looked at her. So I hooked y'all up. Told her the numbers are for you." She says then I smile.

"You serious?" I ask then she nods.

"Nothing more to it?" I ask then she moves her head sideways.

"Weeellll." She says then I look at her. Dammit Aviwe.

"Aviwe. What did you do now?" I ask looking at her.

"Told her you have gwabs." She says. Then the others laugh.

"Bruhh!" I say.

"C'mon. You know good things come with a sacrifice. And this, this was your sacrifice. You can tell her I lied once y'all start talking." She says then I nod.

"You right." I say.

"And as for me... I got Thandile's tens and I'm buzzin'." She says then they laugh.

"You move fast hey." I say.

"No need crying over spilt milk. And I never said anything about commitment. I'm just tryna have fun." She says then I shake my head.

"Poor girl." I say then she smiles.

"Oh yah. And what's the girls name?" I ask.

"Oh yeah. It's uhm... Damn." She says then grabs her phone. She deadass forgot. And she's back. The old Aviwe.

"Oh yeah. It's Akhona." She says then I get a notification on my phone. I check and I see Aviwe sent me her tens.

"Thank you." I say then she nods her head.

"Don't forget. You owe me." She says then stands up.

"Where you off to?" I ask then she points at Thandile.

"Gotta work my magic. You know mos." She says then we all laugh. She leaves and I'm left shaking my head.

"Guys. Am I the only one feeling sorry for Thandile?" I ask then they shake their hands.

"Nah. I doubt. But you know what the crazy thing is?" Siya says then I shake my head no.

"She not the only one who's gonna be hurt." Zuko says then we laugh.

"Batlao hurda." We all say at the same time then start dying.

Translation
