Chapter 83

"Where is Hange?" Levi yelled down in the direction of Kaneki as he clings to his fathers leg.

"I..daddy I.. I couldn't-"

"Hange is currently on her way back to base as we speak. She went into town to restock some of our medical supplies in perpetration for this very situation." Another doctor had pushed past the infirmary doors.

He quickly came to the end of the bed. Reaching down below to move the stirrups into place. And then reaching down again for my leg.

His hand wraps around my calf and then Levis around his wrist, watching his hand tighten around doctors wrist.

"What do you think you'd doing? Hange is our doctor. Hange is the one to deliver our child not you. Are you even qualified-"

"Leviiiiii." The contractions had turned for the worse. They were almost completely unbearable now. It was like hot shards of glass cutting open my abdomen.

"Sir I must assure you I am more the qualified. I have sent for Hange and she should back within the hour or two."

"We don't have a hour or two, she's coming now!" Levis grip tightens even more around the doctors.

The doctor somehow maintains his cool, he must have been used to panicking fathers.

Reaching out I grab Levi's free hand. Pulling his attention back to me.

"Levi, she's coming regardless of who delivers her. We don't have the luxury of interrogating each doctor about their abilities. Please allow him to help." I give him a closed eye smile through the pain.

He looks down at me studying me. Sensing the pain I was in, he let's go. Dropping his free hand to Kaneki'a back.

"Why don't you come with me? I heard there's special treats for good boys who wait patiently outside. Come, I'll keep you company." A nurse had held her hand out for Kaneki to take.

Levi looks back at me and then to the nurse.

"Don't let him out of your sight." Levi orders the nurse through glaring eyes.

"Of course si-"

"Captain." Levi cuts her off correcting her. And then pulls Kaneki's face up to meet his eyes.

"Stay with her. When me and your mother return you will have a baby sister to look after. You won't be able to be the baby anymore my son. You will have to protect her." Leaning down he kisses Kaneki forehead.

"Now go." Levi let's go of Kaneki, just as his
Eyes meet mine.

"Mo-"

"You heard your father now go. We will be okay hun, promise. I love you." Giving him a small reassuring smile the nurse pulls him out of view just in time for
me to let out another painful groan.

"I need to see how dilated she is." The doctor was speaking to Levi, almost like he was asking permission.

Another contraction shoots through my abdomen, and it's almost paralyzingly painful.

"The blood..why...is she bleeding? And she's only 7 months... this ...It's to early, isn't it?" Levi eyes pan back and forth between mine and the doctors.

I could feel my underwear being removed and my legs being lifted into stirrups. As the doctor came between my legs.

"Yes that does seem to be true I ne..."

The doctor voice had cut off mid sentence. As he looked back over his shoulder for a nurse.

"Erica, send word to Hange. This baby's going to be here before she makes it and there is a issu-"
