Levi POV

It took me quite some time to make my way back home, everything was in shambles.

But people were quick to jump right back into their day to day lives. The queen was doing her best to make things normal again. We were still clearing out the remaining Yeagerists.

The second I stepped foot on land, my knees buckled sending me tumbling to the ground. All the adrenaline had finally worn off. I was in a very fragile state. None of my injuries had been properly looked over.

I needed to find help, well that was my last thought before my eyes went blank.

I woke up a week later in a infirmary bed inside of what used to be the walls, surrounded by nurses. Every single one of them made no attempt to hide their gawking as they all blushed deep red, they weren't even trying.

Someone had found me and brought me back along with them into town.

I still wasn't in the best shape to be making the trip I was about to do, but that didn't matter I needed to get to the cabin. Meet back up with my family again. To much time had already passed, I didn't want Y/N to think I was abandoning them.. or worse.

The small mountain town was paved with cobblestone. It was pretty lively for being so soon after the war, but what could I expect. None of these people we're actually there, none of them witnessed what I had, seen what I had.

My head snapped to the left almost on instinct.

"Apple." I could smell it, it was familiar. Reminded me of all those late nights I'd find pregnant Y/N sitting on a counter top inside the Mess Hall in one of my shirts eating pie. It was her biggest weakness, she could never control herself around it. It was even worse when she was pregnant.

I had to close my eyes and take a deep breath in.

Memories of us conceiving Rize in one of the supply closets of the base flashed before my eyes. The way Y/N looked.... it was a much simpler time, back then.

We'd never go back there.

Doing my best to rid myself of the memories I step forward, still something was telling me to go inside.

I was never one for sweets myself, but I knew Y/N was. I knew that if anyone in this town knew anything.... it would be this poor old lady here, standing behind the counter.

She almost gasped out loud when she raised her head, eyes landing on my mangled appearance. I was still wrapped in bandages.

"Captain Le-

"Your apple pies, do you sell many of them?"

She clearly knew who I was, there was no sense in pretending.

"Oh here and there, it's mainly our blueberry cru-

"I don't care about blueberry, has a woman come in here within the past few weeks to purchase a apple pie? She would have a young teen boy with her, a baby and a young girl. Black long hair and green ey-"
