Authors note: hey, hello, how are ya?! Just dropping in. So now that we are approaching the end of the battle I wanted to let you all know in my story Levi does NOT end up in a wheelchair. Personally I feel like isayama did that on purpose, placing Levis leg over the other like that. I dunno 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe I'm just in denial and can't accept it but I don't believe for a second that mans paralyzed. I know Gabi and Falco are seen pushing him but I can totally see that being because Levis a old grump in his old age. You CANT convince me other wise. Anyways yeah, he's got his legs in my story!
Alsssssooooooo...... how would you guys feel about me continuing on the story past the end battle? I don't want to give away my end plot but I have made it so there's room to work with it if you guys wanted me to continue Levi and Y/N's story. Sooooo lemme know.

Y/N POV

"Is there anything else you'd like to say?" I brought my hand down to Mayas back. She flinched at my touch. Still scared due to the pass events. I felt sorry for her, I felt like I hadn't gotten there fast enough.

"No... that's everything I wanted to say." Maya sniffles as she shoves her face into Kaneki's neck, his arm was around her, rubbing her gently. She was still wrapped tightly in Levis old jacket.

"Kaneki, why don't you take your sister and Maya back to the cabin. I'll finish up here. The stew is done, feel free to help yourselves." I knew my offer for food was pointless. Nobody would be eating tonight, including myself. After everything that had happened I wasn't surprised in the slightest that everyone had lost their appetites.

I marked their names into the boulder above them, it wasn't much. I knew they would fade in time but it was the best I could do in this moment. I did just as they asked, both of Mayas parents were carried up the mountain and put to rest on the hill. Nothing in their way to block the view of the sun. They finally were able to lay peacefully hand and hand eternally, forever watching the sunset.

I pat my hands against my filthy jeans. I still had my scouts uniform on. It felt unreal.... I didn't even know if there were any of us left. The scouts could be no more, for all I knew.

Only time would tell, and we'd know any day now.

I patted over the dirt one last time, evening it out with the shovel. Before sending it back into the ground so I could lean against it, taking in the sunset for the last time.

I forced a smile onto my face as I breathed out deeply. Looking out begin the sunset.

"I.. I hope your at peace... and happy... wherever you are... my love." I could feel a single tear fall down my cheek. I wanted to make peace with this.. I wanted to prepare myself for the worst, so I wasn't torn to shreds once I got the news.

I yanked the shovel from the soil, tossing it over my shoulder as I made my way back down the hill. It was getting late, it would be dark soon. Who knew what the night held for us, obviously Titans weren't the enemy anymore.

Levi POV

I sat there, back against the rock as I stared off into the steam.

I had seen them, I saw them all. Hange, Erwin, my squad... all of my fallen comrades.. but I didn't see Y/N.

That must have been good. That was a good sign. I knew she wasn't fighting in this war but there was still danger. She was all alone away from any immediate help.

I couldn't help the tears from falling from my eyes. This bullshit was finally over. And I had made it out alive... barley..... just barley.

I had come to terms with the fact that I wouldn't be coming back. That if never seen my children grow old. That is never be able to grow old with Y/N. I think secretly I always knew I wouldn't.. that we were living on borrowed time. In our line of work, we never lasted long.
