Levi POV

My hands come out, grabbing ahold of the nurse as I toss her to the side. "Sir!" She practically falls into the doors of the infirmary, arms open wide in hopes of preventing me from moving any further. "Captain, there are protocols, there are laws I can not bend or break. We must respect the patient's privacy-" "Fuck privacy." Pushing her off to the side once more, a hand lands on my chest. Hange comes to stand before me, grinning as she looks off to the nurse. "I got this; you can go, Erica." I catch the nurse out of the corner of my eye adjusting her cap before she runs her hands down her dress, disappearing back into the infirmary. She side-steps me to stand beside me. "We've been doing this a long time, Levi, I don't know why you insist on frightening the nurses who tend to your wounded." She steps forward, eyes narrowing as she takes me in.

"You know you can't go back there, even if you are her Captain, you have no right. They need to get her stable-"

My eyes widen, head snapping back in Hange's direction. "She's not stable?" My hands clench at my sides. Jean was dead when I got my hands on him; I'd ring the very life from his neck. Her hands find my arms, planting her boots into the floor. My eyes close as I try my best to compose myself. I pull back, and Hange's arms drop back down to her sides. Turning around, I bring my hand up to my forehead as I look around. "I'm going to kill him." I mutter it, but not low enough.

Hange comes around to meet my gaze. "You know this was entirely an accident. For all we know, Y/N had a pre-existing condition we were unaware of. It's not his fault-" "He was hitting below the belt; he was playing dirty with her. He wouldn't dare try that shit with one of his male comrades or myself-" She smirks, cutting me off.

"Look at you." She clicks her tongue as her grin continues to grow wider. My eyes narrow back at her as I fold my arms over my chest, leaning back into the wall outside of the infirmary. I don't speak, yet that does nothing to stop Hange from doing so. "How long?" I cock my head to the side, glaring at her as I try to calm myself. I was showing my hand, Hange was seeing right through me. "What are you talking about-" "How long have you been involved with one of your cadets?" She tilts her head to the side, grin growing as she grills me. I raise my chin, looking down my nose at her. "Sometimes I think you can't sound any more idiotic than you already do, and then you go and open your mouth again. That's almost laughable."

Neither of us speak for the next couple of minutes as Hange's eyes continue to linger. She must have felt bad because she changes the subject.

"Listen, we probably won't get an update on her condition until morning anyway. I sent another Captain to your squad to finish out your training. I think you should take this time to fill out the incident reports. You will have to fill out Y/N's medical paperwork; she doesn't have anyone else, so that falls on you." I breathe in deep, doing my best to relax. "Yeah, you're right." My eyes linger on the door behind Hange's shoulder as I watch doctors and nurses scramble through the small glass window. Forcing my eyes off the door, I turn on my heel, making my way up the stairs in the direction of my office.
