“WOW,” Lily had a tinge of sarcasm when she said that as she stepped inside the elevator.

He looked so serious.
He talked to her as if her mere ethereal presence doesn't matter to him at all.

“Saglit lang ang naging meeting nila ni Basil,” pakikisali ni Jeanie kaya umasim agad ang kanyang mukha. She shamelessly gave her cousin a side eye. Nagpatuloy lang ang babae. “Kahit naibalita na ni Miss Jackie na itutuloy ni Mr. Guillermo ang trabaho rito sa Variant, gusto pa rin makasigurado ni Basil. Kaya nag-meeting sila ngayon.”
“So, you’re Basil’s spokesperson now,” nasa harap ang tingin ni Lily, pagak ang tawa. “I thought you’re the C-O-O. Chief. Operations. Officer.”
“Lily,” Jeanie warned.
“What?” harap ng mukha niya rito, nang-aasar ang tingin.
“Don’t forget your talk therapy session with me on Saturday, Miss Lily Marlon,” ani Jared na gumulat sa kanilang dalawa.
