Rain Dancer

Before you guys attack me! I do a lot of research about the norms for Korean dating culture and Korean couples for my books. So when I refer to couples showering together, it's not actually in a sexual way, like it's seen most places in the world. It's like caring and loving gesture, where they like wash each other's hair and talk about their day. As described in the chapter. It's not to sexualize the characters, it's to also bring insight to you guys as readers. Now... pls don't kill me and read on!

October 2021

As I heard the sound of rain hitting the windows I immediately looked up from my book and looked out of the nearest window with an excited face.

"I think Bubs just woke up," Sunghoon commented as I looked over at him with a wide grin.

"No, you don't get it," I shook my head at him, "this is the first time... the first actual time."

"The first time what?" Niki frowned over at me.

"That I have a chance to go out in the rain. No schedule, no late hours, just... free time," I stated and he just nodded with a frown staying on his face, "you don't get it," I waved it off and quickly closed my book before rushing into the bedroom and throwing my book up in my bed as I placed my glasses in my case.

"Ji? What in the world are you doing?" Jungwon frowned over at me from his bunk.

"You like the rain right?" I questioned him and he hesitantly nodded at me.

"Why? What are you thinking?" he hesitantly questioned as I rushed over and sat down on his bunk and simply extended my hand towards him, "what?" he let out a small laugh.

"You like the rain..." I stated and he just nodded with an amused look on his face, "how about a rain dance?"

"Ji... I don't think-" he started making me just raise my eyebrows at him and stare at him with big eyes, "you're gonna get sick."

"No, I'm not," I simply shook my head, "come on? Won't you dance with me in the rain? If you don't come along I'll look like a lone lunatic."

"Ji, you are a lunatic," he reminded with a small laugh, making me immediately stand up from his bunk.

"Then I'm just gonna go by myself," I stubbornly stated.

I happily ran out of the bedroom and down to the front hall, not even minding to grab a jacket or a pair of shoes. I just flung open the front door and ran out of the door, into the heavy rain as I grinned widely. Anyone who was seeing me right now would think I was absolutely insane.

"Ji! You're gonna get sick!" Jungwon called out from behind me, making me turn around and grin at him, "get inside, I'll run the warm water for you."

"No!" I shook my head at him making him look at me in disbelief with a small fond smile resting on his face, "come on! Dance with me Wonie!"

I began twirling around in the rain, hearing a small laugh erupt from him. I immediately stopped as I heard his laugh and just turned around to look at him with a wide smile. He smugly glanced to his left and his right before looking behind him into the dorm. In a flash he had closed the door behind him and ran over to me, lifting me up in the air by my waist, grinning widely up at me as he did so.

"God, the things you can't make me do," he complained at me as he set me down on the ground again.

I simply grinned up at him before grabbing his hands, that rested on my waist. I quickly pulled them away from my waist and pulled him further out into the rain before beginning to twirl around with him and dance like two idiots who were completely in love and head over heels for the other. Immediately a bright laugh escaped from his lips.

"Such a pretty laugh~" I happily cooed out at him as he let go of one of my hands and twirled me under his arm, before wrapping the other around my waist and pulling me into his body, immediately feeling his warmth against my wet and cold clothes.

"Only for you~" he happily cooed in return making a small giggle escape my lips, "now... little rain dancer, lets get you inside. I danced with you, and now... we have to make sure you don't get sick," he reminded and brushed my hair out of my face.

"You go in and shower first," I patted his chest softly.

"What do you mean? We're showering together," he stated making me widen my eyes at him, "that's not... something couples normally do in Denmark?"

"It's normal here?" I screeched at him.

"Way to ruin a romantic moment Ji," he sighed at me as he just shook his head.

"Tell me! Is it normal here?" I repeated in a loud voice as he just nodded at me.

"Well... yeah..." he simply shrugged making me frown at him and it slowly dawned upon him what I was getting from this conversation, "oh... oh! It's not like in a sexual way... in Korea... it's normal for couples to liek shower together and wash the other's hair and talk about their day... it's not supposed to be... you know... sexual..."

"Uh... huh," I hummed at him with hesitation.

"We can uhm... we can do it in like... swimwear if you'd like?" he offered making me just blink a few times.

"You really aren't dropping this after realizing how wrong it seems in my mind," I commented in disbelief.

"Do you feel uncomfortable by the idea?" he questioned and continued to brush my wet hair out of my face, as it kept falling down.

"A bit," I nodded at him, "a bit less now you've explained it's not meant in a sexual way... but I don't like the thought of being naked," I shook my head at him making him let out a small smile and press a kiss to my forehead.

"Then you go in and take a shower first, I think you're more likely to be sick and you've been out here for longer than me," he urged and I hesitantly nodded at him.

"Are you disappointed now?" I questioned and he immediately shook his head.

"I just thought it would be a cute little moment," he excused making me let out a small laugh and quickly reach up to peck his lips.

"Another time... and in swimwear," I reminded him and he just nodded at me, "and it has to be cold outside. I'm not doing it in the summer."

"Yeah, yeah, now go in before you risk getting even more sick," he urged and let go of me and softly pushed me towards the front door to the dorm.

I grinned before running up to the front door before turning around and looking at Jungwon through the heavy rain.

"Pretty boy?" I called out hearing him hum at me in return, "thank you for dancing with me."

"Any time rain dancer!" he yelled back at me making me let out a small laugh as I opened the door behind my back.
