Chapter 31

Today was not only windy outside, today was also a day off in the midst of promotions. It had come as quite a surprise that we would get that much time off. We literally thought we would have something to do everyday. Well, to be exact we did have a music show filming tonight, but due to Covid we weren't allowed to be there before nine, and the company had just decided that we could go without rehearsals today.

I quickly closed the front door behind me, to keep the cold wind out, before I began taking off my coat and scarf, before slipping out of my boots as well. I kept blowing hot air onto my hands as I slowly moved into the kitchen and turned on the hot water just to quickly warm up my hands.

"Where have you been?" Jay questioned as he walked into the kitchen.

"Out," I replied before turning off the water and drying my hands in the towel hanging by the wall.

"But why?" he frowned at me.

"Guess I just had to get out," I muttered.

"Sunny! You're back!" Sunoo happily screeched as he stepped into the kitchen and threw his arms up, making Heeseung and Niki walk up behind him as well.

"I don't have to call the authorities then," Heeseung commented as he looked at me with raised eyebrows.

"Of course not, she and Jungwon were just out for the day. Sunny had to go and record something and then they were supposed to go out," Sunoo pointed out to them and Niki immediately frowned.

"Jungwon hyung has been here for the whole day," Niki pointed out and Sunoo's face dropped before looking over at me.

"What?" Sunoo questioned in confusion to me, with widened eyes.

"Just... let it be," I simply waved it off and his mouth slowly went wide.

"He stood you up!" he exclaimed at me, making me sigh at him as I simply just closed my eyes, only to open them once again for Sunghoon and Jake to have joined the conversation as well.

"It's fine, don't worry about it. I got a nice walk in the park anyways," I assured them.

"In the park?" Sunghoon questioned in disbelief, "it's like... freezing outside."

"Wait... I'm confused," Jake frowned at us.

"Jungwon hyung stood up noona," Niki replied and Jake's eyes went wide.

"Where is he anyway?" Sunoo questioned as he looked around at the four boys standing behind him.

"Living room," Sunghoon calmly replied.

"Can I go slap him?" Jay questioned and everyone looked at him with wide eyes.

"Okay... no," I pointed to him as I shook my head, "let it be, seriously. He simply forgot, we've all been working hard and it's understandable for something to be forgotten in the whole process. It's okay."

"Actually... you're sort of blocking the doorway, and I'm hungry," Jake pointed out to Sunoo, who immediately moved to the side and let the other boys stream into the kitchen as most of them headed for the fridge.

"Aish, your hands are all red," Sunoo gushed before rushing over and trying to warm my hands in his, "I can't believe he forgot, and you didn't even have a pair of gloves or a beanie."

"It's fine," I sighed at him.

"Did anyone recognize you?" he questioned and I silently nodded, "were you alright?"

"Mhm, they just smiled and waved at me," I nodded at him, "very respectful. I do think that there'll be some pictures about after today, but they didn't just go up and invade my private space, so that was nice."

"You look tired," he commented and I nodded at him, "then you should go and get some sleep."

"Nah, I'm good," I shook my head at him.

"Are we having a group meeting?" Jungwon questioned from the door and everyone looked over at him. A quick glance to Sunoo showed him glaring intensely at Jungwon, which made me lightly kick him over the shin.

"It is fine," I reminded him and he simply rolled his eyes at me, "you can let go of my hands now," I pointed out and he hesitantly let my hands go.

I quickly pulled them up to my mouth and blew warm air on them, before rubbing them together.

"Ji! You're back," Jungwon grinned widely and I nodded before he moved to the side to reveal Taehee standing behind him, making both my eyebrows go up, he lightly grabbed her hand and pulled her up beside him, before laying an arm around her shoulders, "this is Taehee."

"I know, we're in the same class," I pointed out to him and he just nodded with a wide grin.

"I don't know about you, but that would honestly be the last straw for me," Sunoo whispered down to me and I simply just nodded at him.

"Let it be," I hissed at him.

"Why are your hands and cheeks so red?" Jungwon frowned at me as he moved over to the fridge as well, where the boys had already moved on from, to sit and be eating at the table.

"I waited, for about... I would say nearly two hours," I simply shrugged and looked down at my hands.

"Who did you wait for, noona?" Niki smugly spoke up from the table, wher he sat beside Jake who just watched on in anticipation.

"Someone who probably had much better things to do," I shrugged at him, making a disappointed look flush his face.

"Sounds like a jerk," Jungwon commented and I simply nodded in agreement.

"So, when did you get here unnie?" I questioned Taehee who simply shrugged.

"A few hours ago," she excused and I nodded at her.

"I didn't know," I commented to no one in particular.

"It was first decided today though," she added on and I nodded at her.

"When are we getting picked up?" I turned to Jay who sat at the table as well, by Heeseung.

"In about... six hours," he pointed out and I just nodded at him.

"I'll try and go sleep then, and get a normal body temperature," I nodded at them as I moved towards the exit of the kitchen, where Taehee stood.

"Why do you suddenly need sleep?" Jungwon frowned at me as he closed the fridge.

"I was up at four to go to the studio," I replied in a tired voice and he simply nodded at me, before I moved my way past Taehee and into the bedroom.

I got under my nice warm covers and laid for a while with open eyes. You know... it would be alright if he had simply just forgot, but that it most likely was because of Taehee... that just hurt, to be honest. I'm not sure, but I think I had laid awake for about a few hours before I heard the door into the bedroom open and I looked over my shoulder.

"I thought you would be asleep," Jungwon commented as he looked up at me with a small smile and I just shook my head, "you want me to join you?"

"Then what about Taehee?" I questioned arching a brow at him.

"She had to go to recordings," he pointed out to me and I nodded, before returning my gaze to the wall.

More than two minutes didn't pass before I felt someone dip down in the bed behind me.

"What are you doing?" I questioned in a monotone voice.

"Helping you fall asleep," Jungwon excused himself as he threw the duvet over himself and wrapped an arm aronud my waist.

"Hmm," I quietly hummed at him as I could feel him nuzzle his nose into my hair.

"I love the shampoo you use," he muttered and I just hummed once again.

I wasn't going to bring it up, I didn't want to spark up a conflict, and let alone in the midst of promoting our debut, that would be the stupidest thing I could do.
