Chapter 7 - Athletics Tournament (3/3) (Round One) (Part 2)

Mr. Uzui: "Now, for the second part of Round One! Our competitors are:

Kanao Tsuyuri VS Zenitsu Agatsuma

Isekai Mizuki VS Nezuko Kamado

We will begin with Kanao VS Zenitsu! May both competitors stand up to the stadium?"

Kanao walked up with her head down, as she was slightly shy. Zenitsu was proudly walking, as even girls were cheering for him. "Thank you, thank you! I'll put on a show." Both of them stepped up to the arena, where Mr. Himejima stood as referee. "Ready... set... GO!" he calls out, firing a pistol.

"Thunder Magic... Electro Blaze!" he yelled at the bottom of his heart, punching Kanao's stomach in the blink of an eye. She resisted the hit and countered with an evasive attack.

"Petal Disperse!" she cried as she blasted Zenitsu off her. "Bloom Bombs!" was the attack she used next. Kanao grew a group of explosive plants and launched them at Zenitsu. The blonde boy leaped backwards as an explosion filled the scene.

"WHAT KIND OF MAGIC IS THIS?! FLOWERS AREN'T THIS LETHAL!" he screamed in slight anger and fright, questioning the power of this seemingly peaceful form of magic.

"Root Burst!"  Kanao called, calling sharp roots out of the ground as she swung her right arm at bare air. Lines of roots began appearing from the ground, and it blew onto Zenitsu, nearly knocking him away.

"You're looking oh so confident, Kanao! I'll knock that look away from you!" Zenitsu screamed as he launched his next attack. "Heat Spark!" he yelled out, as he launched a wave of heated lightning at Kanao. It seared her clothing a bit, burning her left arm, and ripping off half the sleeve. (NOTE: Their P.E. uniforms have long sleeves.)

"Azure Bluet Bloom!" she said out loud as azure bluets surrounded her and bloomed, healing her burn. "WHAT THE-?! Okay, this is getting a bit unfair!" he blurted. Kanao shrugged, asking: "Who said "no healing" in the rules?"

Zenitsu jumped and yelled out: "Okay, nope! I'M DONE!" he yelled out, as he launched a massive ball of lightning onto Kanao.

Kanao blocked with her arms to lighten the impact. A massive explosion filled the ground, followed by lots of lightning shocks.

"This kid... Windshield: Maximum!" Mr. Shinazugawa yelled out as a barrier of wind surrounded the arena, blocking all the lightning shocks Zenitsu had caused. When the dust settled, Zenitsu was panting, and there was a large ball of burning roots.

"WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!" Zenitsu screamed in shock as Kanao began to withdraw the roots.

"I used a lot of my power to put up a ball of roots the moment you launched the ball. The best that did was burn approximately two layers, while this one had five. This match has ended, Zenitsu. Cherry Blossom Goddess!" she called, as roots began to wrap her, and a tree grew behind her.

She commanded the tree to launch energy balls at Zenitsu, which he took every last hit. He was eventually knocked unconscious. "Zenitsu is out cold! Kanao is the winner!" he announced as the crowd cheered. Kanao dismantled the tree, and dragged Zenitsu towards Ms. Kanroji's office.

"The final match of the first round will be between the bright Nezuko Kamado, and the mysterious Isekai Mizuki! Begins in twenty minutes!"

20 minutes later...

"Now, for the moment you have all been waiting for! Nezuko VS Isekai!" The whole crowd cheered as both of them stepped onto the stand. "Three, two, one... GO!" Tengen called out as he fired a gun.
