Chapter 55 - VS Fortress Guardian

The guardian's eyes gleamed, then it said: "IF YOU ARE WORTHY, THAN YOU WILL DEFEAT ME WITH INDISPUTABLE SKILL." as the barrel began to spin, and rapidly fire paint. The three evaded, and Isekai took the lead on attacking by leaping off a wall, and proceeded to blow a full round on the guardian's head, only to realize as he backed away that it did no damage. "...what?" Isekai questioned quietly with one of his eyebrows raised. 

Kanao tried to fire, but she was about to get shot down by the guardian, and she braced herself. However, one of the paint shots hit a weak trapdoor latch, and rocks fell on it, subduing the guardian for a while. Kanao took this chance to run, and Isekai knew what to do. "Guys, I have an idea. This thing has heavy-ass armor. While it isn't firing at us, we need to shoot at the trapdoor's rope latch. I don't know how, but I know that can help us." Tanjiro and Kanao just nodded, and proceeded to distract the guardian. They led it beneath the trapdoors, and Isekai shot down the latch that was holding it closed. It gave way, and rocks poured onto the guardian.

It broke the armor, and it was subdued for a short moment. "WELL DONE... BUT IT WON'T BE ENOUGH TO SUBDUE ME." it said as it began firing more rounds of paint at the three. Tanjiro kicked down a nearby table to use as a shield. Before the paint could penetrate the table, Kanao shot down another trapdoor latch. More rocks fell on the guardian, and its armor was shattered, fully putting it down for a while. Kanao raised her eyebrow, asking: "Wait, this guardian thing's a robot?"

Isekai realized the situation, and commanded: "Shoot it, shoot it, shoot it!" as he ran up close and began firing shells upon shells of paint. Tanjiro stuck the other sprayer onto the guardian, constantly damaging it. Eventually, the guardian's armor repaired, and it stood up. The eyes began to glow again, and it said: "VERY WELL-DONE ATTEMPT... BUT I WILL NOT PERISH." as it began to fire again. Tanjiro immediately picked up an empty sprayer and tossed it at a trapdoor the guardian was underneath, and it damaged the armor.

Kanao got hit a few times, but she retaliated by throwing a chair at it, which lightly damaged the armor, and damaged its weapon. At that moment, Isekai broke another latch, dropping even more rocks onto the robot. Tanjiro did the same with the last trapdoor, breaking its armor once more. It fell to the ground, and it lost its grip on the weapon.

Kanao grinned, then called both the boys out. "Lift the mini! I think it's our turn for using heavy weaponry." she requested. Both Tanjiro and Isekai lifted up the gun, then Kanao pulled its trigger on the stock, rapidly firing paint at the mech. In no time, the guardian was taken down. "WELL... DONE..." it said as its eyes went dim, and eventually stopped lighting up. The platform where the chest stood fell down to the stand, eventually allowing the three access to the loot inside.

Isekai kicked it open, and pulled out an assault rifle equipped with a muzzle, along with a gatling paint gun that was to be held by its handle. "Sweeeeeet..." he muttered, strapping the gatling gun to his back. Tanjiro pulled out a sniper rifle and two handguns. He strapped the sniper to his back, and held his pistols. Kanao found what seemed to be a futuristic handgun. She shrugged and kept it anyway, also pulling out a sub-machine gun.

When they left the fortress, only 11 teams remained. They dashed off to find their next targets. Isekai saw some people, and signaled his allies to come. They hid in a bush, waiting for the right moment. After a few seconds, Kanao fired her futuristic gun, in which the bullet exploded. It ended up defeating one of the opponents. Tanjiro took down two more using his handguns, and the last member was taken out by Isekai turning their weapon against them.

Team 1-AA

Nezuko, Makomo, Zenitsu and Sabito defeated the guardian in the Southeastern fortress. They pulled out their new weapons, but were immediately taken down after five cluster bombs came crashing through the windows, one after another.

Zenitsu heard the beeping, and yelled: "GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUUUT!" as he tried to leave the explosion's radius by crashing through a window. Everyone in Team 1-AA except for Zenitsu was taken down. He landed safely on a mattress, although his hip was hurt a little.

Zenitsu could only constantly gasp for air as his mind repeatedly went: "SHIT, SHIT, SHIT, SHIT, SHIT! WHO WAS THAT?!" as he tried to figure out what just happened. Before he could use the cleaners to heal the shots, he was immediately interrupted by Tanjiro finishing him off with a sniper.
