Chapter 58.5 - Corruption Complete

After the four sat down with each other, Isekai sighed, ready to tell him. Tanjiro asked, "Are you gonna tell me what's wrong, or what?" as Isekai took a deep breath. Nezuko gave him the heads-up. "Just a note... Isekai deeply regrets saying what he's about to tell you." To this, Tanjiro raised his eyebrow, looking at Isekai, ready to take in what he's about to tell him.

Isekai exhaled, then spilled the tea. "Look, pal. I'm going to regret telling you this, but you have to know. I know you don't wanna believe me, but this is the truth," he explained. Tanjiro was getting more tensed and slightly agitated as the suspense kept building up. He cracked open a little, and lightly yelled: "Just tell me already!"

Isekai looked at Aoi and Nezuko each, to ask if he really should do it. They both nodded. He sighed, then said: "Kanao's... Kanao's... been kidnapped."

Tanjiro dared not believe what he had just heard from his best friend's lips. He questioned if this was a prank or not. Isekai shook his head, then continued on. "Nezuko noticed she suddenly disappeared, and there was a puddle of water on the floor. Us three went up to find Shinobu, and asked her where she may have gone. The search began the moment we mentioned the words "water that smelled like a pot." We went searching, got some clues from Teruko, and when we reached an alley, we heard a distorted scream from Kanao."

Tanjiro stopped him for a while. He told them to let the info Isekai already gave sink it in. "Taken from me... again...?!" he questioned. A silence filled the small area. "Well?! Are you gonna keep going?!" he questions, livid. Isekai jolted in surprise before continuing on. "W-well, after we found a way in, i.e. another pot, we searched around the area. In a dark room, we could see Muzan trying to transform Kanao. Before we could intercept, Upper Moon Five stopped us. His name is Gyokko, and he has a really freaky appearance. Kibutsuji vanished with her, and not only that, but we even failed to kill him, even with one of the Hashira at hand."

Tanjiro let all of what he was told sink in, and constant negative thoughts began overlapping in his head, to the point where he fainted out of nowhere.

Isekai poked him, tapped him a few times, tried lightly moving him, and then started to shake him. "Guys, he's fainted! Bring him to Ms. Kanroji's office!" he called, genuinely concerned. Their voices in Tanjiro's point of view began to fade away as he went into unconsciousness. The last words he could hear were Kaigaku saying, "He's fine, he'll prolly get up soon," with Isekai replying "Shut up, jackass! Bring him there already!" as Tanjiro blacked out.

Domain of the Demon Lord, 9:30 AM

Muzan had just sat down and began eating a human body as he watched Kanao's transformation progress. In an hour, the flesh contraption began to shake. Muzan grinned, stood up, and made an evil laugh. "Hahahahaha! Finally... One of the students of Class 1-A has been turned into my very minion... Now, Kanao Tsuyuri! Watch as your consciousness and will now be all in vain and become crushed dreams, as you begin a new life as a demon, as the new Upper Moon Six!"

Kanao began to feel the pain of the demonic transformation, as she was receiving a substantially high amount of blood. At this point, her forearms and lower legs have already been altered. She could only scream and cry as the demonic transformation caused her pain that gradually worsened even faster.

"So this is it... huh?"

"Kidnapped by a djinn man and transformed into one of Muzan's lackeys. Such dishonor to the Slayers... But... I know they can do it."

"Shinobu nee-san... Kanae nee-san... Aoi... Isekai... Tanjiro... I know you can stop me. Especially you, dear. I know it's going to hurt to fight me... but you have to. Don't let my transformation stop you from reaching a demon-less world. Do it without me if you must. Just... Don't let me... Kill a single person..."

"Please... Honor my final wish... I know you can do it, guys..." Her final thoughts crossed her mind before the transformation fully finished. When it all came to an end, smoke veiled most of Muzan's area of sight. Out of the smoke emerged Kanao, now a demon. She opened her eyes for the first time, and her irises were reddish-pink, and in the middle of it read "Upper Moon Six." Her fingernails became longer, her fangs manifesting.

And right then and there... were demon Kanao's first words. "Greetings. How may I serve you, master?"
