Chapter 125.5 - The Recorded Deaths

Isekai had fallen unconscious after he finished off Muzan. He had been sleeping for a while before managing to finally awaken. He was in a gigantic crater caused by his attack, and the only one inside the crater aside from himself was Tanjiro, who seemed inanimate. He saw Tanjiro's body, who was kneeling with his head down, and his right arm was holding the broken sword. He started to crawl towards him, with the struggle of not having a right arm anymore.

Everyone came to see the source of the energy explosion, and some people noted the deaths of the others. Zenitsu told the rest that Nezuko and Yahaba had died, and that Kaigaku's heart was torn out of his body. Kanao notified them of Masachika's death, and Murata said that all that was left of Susamaru after the turret was completely blown apart was her clothes, and her hand.

Ozaki then told everyone that she found Genya dead, completely in half. She also said that his liver was missing. Before they could say anything else, they spotted Isekai standing up, and walking towards Tanjiro with a limp.

Once he reached Tanjiro, he knelt down and hung his head over, touching his forehead with his own. Kanao slid down the crater, and sprinted towards her boyfriend and his rival. When she reached them, she asked Isekai about his condition.

"I owe him too much," he said. Kanao raised her eyebrow. "He gave up his life to protect me so that I could end Kibutsuji's life. Thank you, thank you so much, Tanjiro..." he continued, prompting Kanao to start crying.

She knelt down and put her hand on Tanjiro as she started to cry. Everyone who was alive slid down the crater, and figured out the situation. They mourned for him and reminisced about their warm memories with him. From simple times where he helped them, to moments where he got them out of the stickiest and bleakest situations.

"I'm so sorry I had to let you die, Tanjiro..."

"...you didn't deserve this."
