Chapter 36 - Tanjiro & Kanao's 2nd Date

When the day that Makomo and Sabito came back was over, Kanao asked Tanjiro if he wanted to go on another date with her. They arranged it for Saturday. Somehow, Tanjiro had forgotten that the screen-sharing chip was still inside his phone. "Yo! Aoi! Get over here and check this out!" Isekai called. Aoi walked over and took a look at his phone, and saw what was going on. "Hm? Ah! HAHA! WE GOT MORE!" Aoi lightly squealed. "Spy on them or no?" Isekai asked. Aoi pouted, replying: "That shouldn't even be a question."

Saturday, 12:10 PM, Nishinoya's Noodles

Isekai decided they would spy on person this time, and he and Aoi peeked into the restaurant to find Tanjiro and Kanao ordering. "...Spicy ramen?" Kanao requested. Tanjiro followed up, saying he wanted udon. The waitress then asked, "Drinks?" as Tanjiro pondered. He then replied iced tea. Kanao asked if they sold Ramune. They said yes, and she took that.

The waitress then asked if they wanted anything for dessert. Tanjiro and Kanao came to an agreement, and he said: "I'd like two medium-sized slices of cheesecake, then that should do it."

"Alright. That'll be 2000 Yen. Thank you for choosing Nishinoya's Noodles!" she thanked them as Kanao paid.

Outside, Isekai was half-asleep, asking his friend, "Anything happen?" to which Aoi shook her head, replying, "Nope. Seems like they finished ordering."

Later...

The waitress arrived, the pair's food in hands. "Here you go, you two. Enjoy your food!" The two took their meals. "Itadakimasu." they said in unison as they began to eat.

Outside...

Isekai was asleep, with Aoi still watching. "This is getting boring. Isekai, do you know what they'll do later?" Isekai snapped awake, replying: "Eh? Oh, uh, I think they're headed to the big mall for a bit of shopping or something..." he answered as he fell back asleep.

Later...

The pair of lovebirds stood up, talked for a minute, then left. Aoi gasped at the realization that they were exited, and loudly muttered: "ISEKAI, GET DOWN!" as she pushed his head down. "Hm? Wah!" he yelped as his head was pushed down in an attempt to be concealed from Kanao and Tanjiro. "Let's move to the mall, they just left Nishinoya's!" Aoi said, pointing towards the mall. Isekai sighed, muttering, "Alright..." as he pulled out his motorcycle keys and started the ignition. "Come on, let's head there." he added as he threw his hood over his head. Aoi equipped her motorcycle helmet and mounted the bike. Isekai then hit the gas pedal and drove off to the mall.

Saturday, Central Mall, 12:40 PM

Isekai parked the bike and walked towards the entrance were, surely enough, he could see the two walking in. "There they are! Let's go in." Aoi exclaimed. Isekai took the lead, and Aoi followed him.

Inside the mall...

"So, Kanao, where do you wanna go first?" Tanjiro prompted her. "Hmm... Maybe we can go check out a few shoes to buy?" Kanao answered. The former shrugged, muttering: "I don't see why not." Kanao giggled as she took her boyfriend's hand and went with him to a shoe store.

"Let's follow them." Isekai said as he and Aoi ran towards said shoe store, but was surprised by a passing Black. "Isekai? What are you doing here?" Black asked, wondering what reason he had to be here. "Spying on my old friend," he answered. "Who's she?" Aoi asked. "My cousin, Black Aurori."

"Nice to meet you!" Black greeted her, rather excited to meet new friends. "Aoi Kanzaki. Pleasure to meet you," she replied. "So, you said you were spying someone? Let me in on this!" Black requested, rather interested. "Sure. You heard of Tanjiro Kamado and Kanao Tsuyuri, right?" Isekai asked, wondering if she knew. "Ah, those two from the news in the Athletics Tournament? Yeah, what about 'em?" she asked, wondering what he meant.

Isekai opened his phone, explaining, "It's been one or two months ago since they started dating, and we're putting it on us to spy on them. As much as I want tea to spill to my classmates, I don't want their date getting interrupted either." "That's fair." she replied, joining their party.

Inside the shoe store...

Kanao and Tanjiro were looking and trying out various kinds of shoes, hoping to find one that came to their liking, and could fit them. Isekai, Black and Aoi were in the back, spying on them.

"You've been here for a good twenty minutes, just pick out something already!" Isekai said softly.

Later, when Tanjiro and Kanao picked out some shoes, they bought them and left to go check out other places, with Isekai, his cousin and Aoi keeping pretty incognito as they followed the couple. They went to many places, spending lots of time there. Eventually, around 6:30 PM, as the two turned a corner to get some dinner, Isekai and the others tried to follow, but a truck smashed through the wall, and out came three human men and a demon.

"DAMN IT, AND NOW OF ALL TIMES!" Aoi angrily yelled lightly. "Black! Try to take this moment to meet Tanjiro and Kanao! Aoi and I will handle these men!" Isekai said. "A-alright!" she agreed, leaving the scene.

Isekai raised his voice, so the witnesses could hear him. "Please do not panic! The both of us will handle them!" he said as he drew out his composite sword and a pistol. Aoi drew out her katana. Murata was at the scene and drew out his transformable sword. "Murata? You're here, too?" Aoi asked. "I came here to buy my hair gel, but, I'm a slayer, and I may as well join. Weren't you spying on Kanao and Tanjiro just now? Get them to join us." Murata said, wondering why they didn't get Tanjiro and Kanao to join the battle.

"I'm not letting ANYTHING interrupt their date," Isekai said, tightening the grip.  "Alright then, let's take these guys down!" Aoi chimed in, tensed and ready for battle. "Aoi, you handle the three men. Murata and I will take this one." Isekai commanded. "Right!" she agreed as all 3 charged forward and attacked their assigned opponents.
