Chapter 4 - Final Cavalry Battle

Isekai swung at Kanao four times in the blink of an eye. One hit her on the right side of her waist, she took another to the left arm, and she blocked the other two.

Tanjiro thought about his old friend's fighting prowess, and how he handled Kanao. "I can already tell Kanao's having a hard time... and I'm not surprised. He has a high amount of power and coordination. It's no wonder he can attack that fast."

Tanjiro bashed her head onto Aoi's, making her stumble back a slight bit. She immediately stood up and swung four times with her head. "Tanjiro clearly has a hard forehead. Kanao's lucky she got the hard-headed one. Isekai, what do we do?" she asked.

"Just keep evading Tanjiro's headbutts, so you can buy me time to gather a bit of power. He'll only wear your skull and helmet down within each hit, eventually cracking both in one hit. It won't be wise to clash with him any further." he advised, before whirling his blade like a fan.

Tanjiro asked himself, "Why is he gathering air?" the moment Isekai was ready to attack, he realized what was wrong. "Kanao, hold tightly. His next attack will NOT be easy."

Isekai began spinning his sword counter-clockwise, unleashing a massive blast of air onto Kanao and Tanjiro. She held tightly, whilst Tanjiro was trying to walk forward. He began to adapt to the air currents, and ran forward. Kanao eventually thrusted her blade into the cycle, forcing the blade to stop, and the air current to disperse.

Isekai immediately swung five times, but Kanao blocked it, and returned with an immediate thrust. He nearly took the hit, only to realize Aoi was getting hit. He whirled his blade again, and blasted him and Aoi backward.

"Aoi, what did I tell you about getting hit by Tanjiro?" Isekai reprimanded her, to which she responded "We were both up close, how could I avoid that?!"

Isekai sighed, and then began to fire black lightning at the pair. Tanjiro began to run around while dodging the bullets. "I can't avoid these things using just my bare body anymore. I'm going to have to use one. Mr. Urokodaki, thank you for teaching me these martial arts techniques." He began to take in air, and ran faster, as if he were a rapid water flow.

"About TIME he learned something." Isekai thought to himself, as Tanjiro made an effective headbutt towards Aoi's back, making her trip forward. She would have fallen over if Isekai didn't hit her with the rubber blade's grip.

"Now this is getting FUN!" he yelled in gratitude, as he began rapidly firing black lightning onto Tanjiro, who ran to evade the possible predicament.

Kanao took a deep breath, and wrapped her rubber blade in thick roots. Tanjiro noticed this."Kanao knows about this too? This should be too easy!"

The girl immediately swung at Isekai, and he thrusted forward at Kanao's eye, hoping to blind her. She blocked the attack, and returned with a slash. Isekai, however, flashed his haori at her blade. The slash was rendered ineffective.

It took Kanao by surprise,"What...? Did... did his haori just block the attack?!"

Isekai then hit her with a brutal arm swing, nearly knocking her off of Tanjiro. She threw some petals at the ground, and roots began to grow. He reacted quick, and shot the roots with black lightning, forcing them to decay.

"Next... Shadow Plum Grenade!"  Kanao called internally as she threw three explosive flowers at Isekai and Aoi. They exploded, forcing Aoi to stumble backward.

"Alright then, Kanao. How about we finish this?" he asked as his rubber sword began to wrap itself in his lightning. Kanao completely reinforced hers with roots, then got ready to swing.

"We only have a minute before this class ends, finish this cavalry round NOW!" Mr. Tomioka demanded as he looked at the clock.

The two pairs charged at each other, and the battle ended with a single swing, or... two swings.

"Wait a minute..." Kanao uttered, realizing Isekai's arm was bleeding a little. He blocked Kanao's swing with his arm, then swung with the actual sword with his left arm. He completely knocked Kanao off, and the two fell on the ground. "Oh God, that hurt... BAGH!" he muttered as he gasped, since Kanao landed on his stomach.

Mr. Tomioka then announced his class was dismissed, then left as an odd-looking man came in. "I am Mr. Kyogai, and I will be your music teacher. I am quite impatient, so we will begin now. Pick your instrument type, and depending on your section I will have you test different instruments. Choose the one you like best. Go." he instructed sternly and quickly.

After music class...

"Lunchtime," Kyogai announced as he left the classroom. Tanjiro decided to look for someone to spend the lunch hour with. The first person that came to mind was Zenitsu. "Hey, Zenitsu, can I ask if you and Inosuke would like to-"

Tanjiro was immediately cut off by Zenitsu's jealous screaming. "SHUT UP, YOU BASTARD! I WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU! YOU ENDED UP DOING SOMETHING GREAT WITH KANAO OVER THERE, DIDN'T YOU?! I'M NOT EATING WITH YOU AND THAT'S THAT!" Tanjiro then put on the "what?" face, saying: "But I didn't even do anyth-" but, he was cut off by more of Zenitsu's angry screeching. "LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE! YOU CLEARLY DID SOMETHING NICE WITH HER, DIDN'T YOU?! TELL ME NOW, YOU LYING SNAKE!!!" At this point, Tanjiro was getting slightly angry, then yelling back: "I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" 

They argued for a minute longer, but Zenitsu eventually gave in, yelling: "ALRIGHT, FINE! DON'T TELL ME IF YOU DON'T WANNA, I JUST KNOW YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING ALL SO LOVEY-DOVEY WITH KANAO!!!" he yelled as he stormed off with Inosuke. "Ooh, that was rough. Wanna eat with me and Isekai?" Kanao asked. "Yes!" he agreed with a gleeful smile.

Zenitsu feels like his Girl Moment senses are tingling. He instantly zoomed over to Tanjiro and began to yell at him again. "YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE! EATING WITH A GIRL AS CUTE AS HER?! WHY DIDN'T YOU INVITE ME?!" Tanjiro then responded with "I wanted to, but you kept cutting me off!" Zenitsu brushed this off, then yelled: "I DON'T CARE! YOU SHOULD JUST DIEEEEEE!" as he brought out his fork and was about to run at Tanjiro.

"Just shut up, Zenitsu!" Isekai demanded angrily, as he chopped Zenitsu's neck, knocking him out. "WOW, YOU'RE STRONG! FIGHT ME, HALF-AND-HALF HAIR GUY!" Inosuke demanded said as he was already lying down in the ground, arms and legs tied.

"WAIT... HOW?! I DIDN'T EVEN SEE THIS!" he screamed as he began to squirm and wiggle. He continued to yell "LET ME OUT. I SAID, LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT! LET. ME. OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT!!!!!" and his mouth was then taped.

"There, actual silence." Isekai sighed as he walked away. "You two wanna eat now?" "Yep!" the other two agreed as the trio walked down the stairs.
