Chapter 94 - VS The Spider Family

Kaigaku, Zenitsu and Inosuke were still on their way to Irohazaka. It was still gonna take a while, so they tarried beneath a tree and tried to fuel themselves up before they went further. After they charged themselves up on chicken drumsticks, they ran off to the designated place.

"So, is this it?" Kaigaku asked. Zenitsu nodded, and they checked inside the forests. Everywhere, they could see spiders. Big, and small. "Jeez, there's a lot of spiders. It's an abnormal amount..." Inosuke comments, accidentally squishing a big one. "No doubt the demon we're looking for is here," Kaigaku mutters, putting a spider down onto a tree.

Zenitsu then hears something. "Guys, be careful, I feel like we've been spotted..." he warns them. Everyone stays on guard, and suddenly, dead warriors from the DRF start charging at them. Inosuke tries to fight them off without killing them. Kaigaku helps him, and he tells Zenitsu to request backup, as he thought they had traitors.

Zenitsu had done so. "Requesting backup at Irohazaka Route! We have traitors from the DRF!" he calls. Isekai comes on the speaker. "You're in Irohazaka now, right? Yeah, they're not traitors. They're dead warriors from our team that Kanao killed while she was a demon. They won't be able to move by their own mind. If they're attacking you, it's most likely someone's manipulating them. You're fighting Five, right? Then he or one of his acquaintances, assuming he had one, is likely to be manipulating their bodies using their spider strings or something. You can just cut them apart. I'll send backup from the other groups once they've defeated their respective foes," Isekai explains, making a guess.

Zenitsu shoves the radio back into his pocket, and tells them about Isekai's thoughts. Kaigaku looked at their eyes. "Well, they *do* seem colorless. He said we can just cut them to size since they're dead, right? THEN LET'S DO THAT!" Kaigaku yells, severing one dead slayer's arms and legs.

Inosuke did the same, except his target's body was nothing but bits and pieces now. Zenitsu sighed and just followed them. But they wouldn't stop coming. "Forget it! These things won't stop coming! Look, I'll find their locations! You two just hold them off for me!" Inosuke suggested, planting his swords into the ground.

"Beast Magic: Spatial Awareness!" he chanted. In a moment, his sense of touch was expanded to extreme amounts. He could feel everything happening around him just by a small air disturbance. He found two things. A large, headless organism with huge fangs for arms, and a relatively short and voluptuous woman who looked like she was in her 30s.

Spatial Awareness (The user increases the power of their sense of touch to such an extreme amount that they can feel disturbances in the air. Using this, they can locate certain targets, enemies or objects.)

"I found her! Just go northwest from here. Then, at a small house on a big tree, just turn right and run straight through that creek! I'll hold all of these guys off!" Inosuke suggested, killing two more. "You sure you can handle them alone?" Kaigaku questions, concerned for his buddy. "I'll be fine! Most of my attacks are multi-targeted anyway," Inosuke answers, ripping through seven at once. "Before you go, be careful around that big tree! I feel a really unsettling presence in there," he warned them. They both ran off, with Zenitsu telling him to be careful.

"Northwest, right?" Zenitsu asks. Kaigaku nods, and they run along that way. Unfortunately, more dead DRF members came out of the bushes, most of them being from the encampments patrolling around Irohazaka Route at night. They cut them down with ease, and eventually, they made it to the house at the tree that Inosuke mentioned. "Why's it hanging like that?" Kaigaku questions. He shakes it off, and tells Zenitsu to turn right. Before they could move, though, something splat on the ground, and it dissolved.
