Chapter 23 - Midterms 1

When the students recovered from the battle against Muzan, they went back home from the resort. Two weeks had passed since then, they finished their midterm exams, and are getting their rankings and scores today.

"Hey, Isekai. When you said you got the good end of his Blood Magics, why take the one that does nothing but steal other Blood Magics, when you could literally have his flesh tentacle things?" Muichiro asked, putting his head down on his desk. "The limit of Blood Magics the Order and Chaos Magic can contain within one person is limited to one. In this case, I stole Black Blood, so technically that limit was removed. The next Blood Magics I steal will be stocked in Black Blood, not Order and Chaos," Isekai explained, coughing.

"So in short, you mean to say you cheated that restriction?" Zenitsu asked. Isekai shrugged, replying, "I guess you could say that." In that moment, Kanae entered the room to announce something involving the midterms.

"Alright, kids, we have your midterm scores and rankings. Come get your papers up here. Those who acquired below 40 points are to retake the exam on Friday. Others who got 40 and above can also retake it if they desire."

Each person collects their paper and reads their scores.

"I DIDN'T STUDY FOR THIS!" Susamaru and Zenitsu both yelled. "WITH THE SWORDSMAN TRAINING AND BREATH EXERCISES, I NEVER GOT TO STUDY AT ALL!" he said as Susamaru was laughing.

"You didn't study at all? Not during when you were home at night?" Masachika questioned, raising an eyebrow as he looked at the two. "Yeah, I mean, survival in combat is important, but knowledge is, too," Ozaki added.

"Well, in all honesty, these ARE midterm exams... then we have the quarterly ones and the midterm ones for the other 3 quarters, so I'm not sure how you could be so calm about it," Yahaba commented, sighing with a tint of shame.

Yahaba - 14th (27 / 84)

"Still, they didn't have to go so hard on the questions. I studied for a week, but could barely make heads or tails of the questions in there," Genya followed, looking at his answers, visibly disappointed with his score.

Genya Shinazugawa - 13th (33 / 84)

"Don't you think you should try cramming a bit?" Murata asked, drinking from his energy drink.

Murata - 9th (53 / 84)

"EASY FOR YOU TO SAY! SOME OF US HAVE DIFFERENT SLEEP TIMES THAN YOU DO!" Genya and Zenitsu yelled angrily. "Chill, you still got 3 other midterm exams, and we aren't even past the first quarter yet," Yushiro responded, putting a book on his desk.

Yushiro Yamamoto - 10th (48 / 84)

"Let's do our best next time, okay?" Tanjiro suggested, a drip of sweat on his head.

Tanjiro Kamado - 5th (74 / 84)

"Shut up. You're on fifth place and have 74 points, don't you start telling us that," Zenitsu replied, visibly disturbed and agitated. "Well, I think I can be of assistance. How about we have a study session at the Kocho Residence this weekend?" Kanao suggested, tapping her cheek with a pen.
