Chapter 112 - Athletics Tournament II (2/5)

Tengen cleared his throat. "The next event will be... Full Power Battle!" he announced, getting everyone excited. "There will be four teams of four, and you can choose your members! I'll explain the rules once all teams are formed. GO!" he explained, starting the team-up phase.

One team was already formed, as the Seikatsu quadruplets grouped together. Makomo, Sabito, Matsuoka and Satoru formed a second team. "We won't lose to the quadruplets this time!" Satoru roared, firing up the whole team. The Seikatsu quadruplets just giggled. Isekai, Genya, Kaigaku and Hakuji were a third team, which left Tanjiro, Nezuko, Kanao and Muichiro to form the final team of four needed to start the Full Power Battle activity.

"Alright then, all four teams have formed! Before I explain the rules, everyone, form a line!" he announced. Everyone got into a single-file line of their own team. Tengen cleared his throat. "So, here's how it goes! The rules are as stated:

1. A knockdown or a ring-out will cause an elimination for the player! When all four members have either been knocked down or launched away from the field, the team will be eliminated. Only two teams can move on to the finals, so dedicate your heart to winning this!
2. You cannot tag switch with teammates. When you are eliminated, the one behind you comes next. You cannot change positions mid-game, so I hope you're happy with how your line is!
3. You cannot use weapons of any kind, regardless if they're made by your power or not.

If we have no questions..." he explains, pausing to let anyone ask questions. No one says anything. "...then we can begin!" he announces. Nezuko gets ready. "This will be the first time I use Pyrokinesis in a fight. I hope I do well...!"  she thought. Genya cranked his arm. "Alright then, I'm up first!" he says. Everyone on his team agrees.

Of the four quadruplets, Yumeko was up front. "Alright then, I'll start," she said. The other three agreed. Makomo was stretching, getting ready since she was going first. "Alright! Let's do this! Three, two, one, go!" he counts down, setting off the start of the activity. The umpire shoots a blank, and the four fighters charge at each other in a free-for-all.

Makomo and Yumeko were going at it with their fists, and Genya and Nezuko were shooting at each other using flames and animal parts. "Arapaima Scales: Burst!" Genya yelled, eight shots being fired at once. Three of them hit Nezuko, and the others were turned to ash. She tried to hit Genya with a flame-infused fist, but he blocked it by growing scales on his arm.

Manifest (When the user eats something, the origin becomes a permanent part of their Blood Magic. For example, if the user were to eat a rock, they can manipulate their body to grow stones from any desired part. If they ate a turkey, the user could gain avian traits.)

Arapaima Scales (After Genya ate the entirety (excluding the bones and head) of an Arapaima gigas, he gained the power to breathe underwater and grow its scales from his body. He uses it both offensively and defensively.)

Nezuko then tried a little harder. She went on the offensive, throwing punches and flames wherever she went. In a while, she found an opening, and she tried for a downward punch on Genya's head. She missed, although this was her plan. Suddenly, flames piled on top of Genya, and he shielded his body in rocks to block the hit, when he realized it didn't hurt in the slightest.

Suddenly, Nezuko was behind Genya, and she blew an explosion on his back. Suddenly, a screech dispersed the smoke, and a large bat appeared where Genya was. "WAIT, YOU ATE A BAT?!" Nezuko questioned, both disgusted and surprised. "You don't KNOW what I would do to extend my power!" he replied, charging forward to get a bite. Nezuko dodged it, and Genya turned behind him to try again. "This is my newest technique: TRANSFORM!"

Transform (The user can transform into whatever he eats. Since he ate a bat, he can become a human-sized bat with its ability to listen, fly and screech loudly.)
