Chapter 114 - Athletics Tournament II (4/5)

"Alright, everyone! We have our new brackets for the semi-finals matches! Kanao, Genya, Nezuko and Kaigaku have been eliminated, so Tanjiro, Isekai, Hakuji and Muichiro move on to the semi-finals!"

Kamado Tanjiro VS Mizuki Isekai

Tokito Muichiro VS Soyama Hakuji

"Our first match will be between Mizuki Isekai and Kamado Tanjiro! May both competitors step up, please?" Tengen requests. Tanjiro and Isekai step up, warming themselves up for the fight. "I haven't had a proper fight against you since last year. I hope you'll win this time!" Isekai said, stating his hopes.

"You taught me a new technique I can use. I won't lose!" Tanjiro replied, cracking his knuckles. "Three, two, one, GO!" Gyomei counted, shooting a blank. Isekai teleported behind Tanjiro by using a portal, ready to hit him with a punch. It is quickly blocked, and a great gust disperses. "Pretty strong, too slow," Tanjiro commented, leaping away.

"I'll make you eat those words!" Isekai yelled, creating two Energy Mimics. He sent both of them running after him, and Tanjiro brought out two of his own Energy Mimics to fight them. They both fight at an equal level, punching each other as the match goes on. Soon enough they land on the ground, and look at each other.

"You think we should kick it up?" Tanjiro asks. Isekai nods. Tanjiro then takes a sheathing stance, and pulls out a flaming sword from his hand. "Hinokami Kagura: Nikko no sozo!"

Nikko no sozo (Sunlight's Creation) (After the power of the Sun Magic grew large enough, the hopes of the former inheritors came together to create this sword. The sword has a heated blade, hot enough to melt through many kinds of things.)

Isekai then takes a deep breath. He puts his left hand on his belly as if he were giving it a karate chop. He then curls his right hand into a fist and places it on his palm. He then pulls it back, pulling out a purple energy katana. "This is a technique I call... Shinpan no Hi!"

Shinpan no Hi (Judgment Day, 審判の日) (The user draws out a purple sword made of energy. It is as strong as the Sun Magic's Nikko no sozo.)

"Both competitors have drawn out swords! Who will fall in the duel of samurai? What have you been teaching them, Tomioka?" Tengen announces, asking Giyu what he has been teaching them. "I've done nothing. All of this was cultivated because of their experiences in the battlefield. They have grown strong during their first year, and I have no doubt that they will succeed in their futures," he answers, folding his arms.

"There you have it, folks! Tomioka is a shitty teacher!" Tengen continues, the audience laughing in response. Tanjiro and Isekai just go "what?" as the intensity of the battle drops. "I'm a *WHAT*?" he questions, ready to smack Tengen. Suddenly, Isekai's blade hits the window. "GAH!" Tengen yelped, taken by surprise. The sword vanishes and reappears on Isekai's hand.

"CAN WE *PLEASE* GET ON WITH THIS?!" Isekai demanded. "R-right, anyway, the match will resume now!" Tengen replied, continuing the match. Tanjiro and Isekai charge at each other, and they start exchanging sword slashes. Suddenly, Isekai threw his blade at Tanjiro, who blocks it with his sword, only to realize it wasn't the sword he threw. It was a spear he had thrown, to create a distraction.

Blades of Torment (A sturdy yet sharp double-edged spear colored a bright purple is conjured from the user's hands. It can be combined with certain attacks, such as Infernum.)

Isekai was already in front of him, and before Tanjiro could react, he slashed him from his left shoulder to the right side of his waist. "D-damn...! That hurt...!"  Tanjiro thought, standing back up as he endured it. Isekai ran in to finish off his opponent, when suddenly, Tanjiro got started punching in random directions, saying "Don't think so" as he goes on.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Isekai takes a strike to his left, then another on his right, then is slammed down by a third. "W-what...? But how...?" Isekai questioned. "My new technique that I formed... Warping Air Strike!"

Warping Air Strike (A technique from the Cosmic Energy magic. The user punches in a chosen direction, and the punch will resonate from the designated place, retaining its power and force. The speed of the strike will depend on the force of the punch.)

"I'll finish you off. I'm the one who wins this time, Isekai!" Tanjiro yells, preparing a Cosmic Punisher in his hand. Just as he was about to punch his opponent, he suddenly punches the ground. "INFERNUM!" Isekai yells, a big explosion occurring.

Infernum (The user gathers a substantial amount of Chaos energy, and releases it with a single strike. On impact with living beings, the energy immediately detonates and creates no lasting effects on the organism. On impact with terrain, cracks on the ground form in a straight line in front of the user, length is desired [costs more energy for longer range], and the energy detonates after a 0.75 second delay.)

"This ends now, Tanjiro!" Isekai declared, taking a stance. Suddenly, he powered up to 100%, his hair becoming navy blue and hot pink. Tanjiro grinned, and started laughing. "Alright then! Bring all four feet of you!" he replied, a large orange dragon flying above his head. He then activated Amaterasu, bringing out his maximum power. They both charged forward, and got ready to hit each other.

Amaterasu (This state is unlocked when the user activates the full power of the Sun Magic. The width, range and power of the attacks are increased when this state is activated.)

The strike happened, and a huge explosion engulfed the arena, everyone clapping and cheering at the light show. When the smoke cleared out, Isekai and Tanjiro were there, their bodies posed as if they swung a sword. They stood up properly and deactivated their transformations. Suddenly, Isekai lurched over and vomited a small puddle of blood. "Oh-o, God... maybe I shouldn't have gone that far..." he muttered.

Tanjiro fell over, going into unconsciousness. Gyomei checked him. "Kamado Tanjiro is unconscious! Isekai is the winner!" he states, the audience cheering. "There you have it, ladies, gentlemen and that omni-colored rainbow in-between! We have the winner of the first semi-finals match after a destructive battle. isekai moves on to the Finals!" Tengen announces, the audience roaring even louder. "Our next match will be between Hakuji and Muichiro!"

Later...

The match between Hakuji and Muichiro was completed, and the former emerged victorious. "Hakuji is the winner! He will be moving on to the Finals, where he will face Mizuki Isekai! The finals will start at 8:00 PM tonight. We'll see you later! We are selling special student-made clothing downstairs currently, so have a look!" he announced, suggesting that they buy something.

In the stadium store section...

Everyone was checking out some clothes to buy. There was one with Tanjiro and Kanao's faces on it, which had "Support Kanjiro!" as its inscription. Tanjiro and Kanao were staring at this in embarrassment, and Aoi and Isekai were just laughing at them because of it.

There was a hoodie with Isekai and Aoi's faces on it, the inscription reading "Tea Hunters." There were mugs that featured the Seikatsu Quadruplets, the Kocho Sisters, Masachika, and Sabito. On a rack was a winter jacket that had Genya on it. The inscription read "CHIMERA" in dark red. There were even pins with the teachers' faces on it.

A food section was next to the clothes store, and they were selling lots of baked and cooked goods. Masachika was smoking up some German franks, and Kanao was handling the IseCookies that (guess who it is) baked. Tanjiro was next to her, happily baking cakes to slice up and sell to customers. There was a third section with a small stand. Giyu Tomioka and Kagaya Ubuyashiki were behind it, and it was a "Ask Me Anything" section. A few people were lined up, wanting to ask about the Kimetsu Academy and the Slayers Corporation.

Everyone spent the next few hours selling their goods or services, and it went on until 8:00 PM.
