Chapter 65.5 - Demon Biologist Tamayo

Standing in front of a desk was a woman who looked exactly like the one in the picture. "Greetings to you all. Hello again, Isekai, Muichiro and Shinobu. As you may or may not know, I'm Tamayo, a biologist who focuses on the anatomy of demons. I'm delighted that you have acquired these... immaculate samples of dark red demon blood... and now, I'm able to experiment and test, and create a suppressor for the curse," she greeted them, fully excited about the new substance she could make.

Tamayo (A biologist studying demon anatomy, in hopes of finding a cure to take back who was transformed. She's working with the Slayers Corporation in secret.)

"Follow me, will you?" Tamayo requested. She left the room, the entire group following her. She punched in a code on a keypad lock, unlocked a specific door, and the others followed her into a laboratory, where 7 other people were helping her with the research. She decided to announce that the samples have been acquired, and can now go one step further into creating a suppressor.

Tamayo told the others they could leave, as she has no further business with them currently. They did so, and exited the laboratory in total. Muichiro thought about what he had just witnessed all in all, and his first comment was: "I've known Tamayo since I was 11, yet I haven't known that she was a biologist." Shinobu nodded, signaling that she didn't know, either.

Isekai received a text message, and it came from Tamayo. It read: "If nothing goes wrong, and we don't make an unstable suppressor, we should be done in 2-3 days." He relayed this information, and they were substantially satisfied, since most of them thought that it was gonna take a week. Later, they all split up to go to their residential areas. Except for Isekai, he decided to go crash at Zenitsu's for the night.

Kuwajima Residence: Living Room, 5:10 PM

Zenitsu and Nezuko were on a couch, watching horror movies, when there was a knock on the door. The gold-haired lad went to answer, and when he opened it up, he was greeted by Isekai, who was holding a jagged knife on his right hand. "Woah, hey dude, no one has to get killed, what do you need?"

Isekai raised his eyebrow, telling him that he wanted to stay there for the night. Zenitsu felt much more relieved after that, knowing Isekai wasn't gonna unreasonably kill him. Nezuko saw him, and ran to give him a bear hug. "Ow, Nezuko, how are your arms this strong?!" he asked. Nezuko apologized and released him, then all 3 of them went to the couch, got themselves comfy, and kept watching more horror movies.

Zenitsu fell asleep on Nezuko's lap by accident at one point. She didn't mind, but she had another thing in mind. She decided to ask Isekai about Kanao. "Uh, hey, Isekai?" she called. Isekai replied, "Yeah?" as a bit of silence filled the room. Nezuko spoke up. "What're you going to do about Kanao?" she asked.

Isekai sighed. "Look, we've already formulated a plan to make a cure for the demon transformations. But we still need to make a suppressor for Kibutsuji's Blood Curse, so that we can freely experiment without that bastard throwing a wrench into our plans. We've already made contact with Tamayo, the famous biologist who studies demon biology all day. She agreed to work with us without cost."

Nezuko asked what they're gonna do once they created the suppressor. "We need an extremely concentrated sample of demon blood. The only way we can acquire that is if we can capture an Upper Moon."

A silence filled the room once more, then Nezuko asked: "Wait, but won't an overdose kill her?" Isekai shook his head. "Usually, yes. An estimated 18 doses' worth of demon blood is going to kill her. However, ironically, 100 doses at once, which is 1 dose of an Upper Moon's blood, can somehow be turned into a fully stable cure, the only downside being that the stability chance is extremely low. Even I'm unsure about how, but there's no doubt about it."

Nezuko turned back to the TV, and said...

"I hope I can trust you."
