Holding on to a cliff (Kirishima X Reader)

"How'd this happen, you okay?" My co-worker with red dyed hair asked.

"I mean no, but I'm alive. I'll tell you how I got here if I survive." There I was hanging on the edge of a cliff with only one hand keeping me suspended in the air.

Terrified is one way to explain how I feel, but nothing could explain how terrified I was. My hand grew more slippery by the second, the longer I was clinging onto the cliff the smaller my chances of holding onto life were.

My heart was beating faster than any runner could run, beating harder than any pro could hit terrified couldn't even begin to explain how I feel.

"Grab on!" Red Riot threw a rope down at me so I could attach the rope to me, I took it and tied it to my harness tightly.

"Must live" was the only thing going through my mind at that moment.

With all your force you pulled yourself up to him, as you reached steady ground you stood up. With shaky legs you carried yourself away from the edge of the cliff.

Safe atlas, before Kirishima could ask any questions you collapsed. Falling to the ground into a heap.

He carried you to your workplace worried if you were hurt. A medical professional took care of you for a bit until you were awake.

"Uhh...hello?" A familiar voice spoke through the door after knocking, you knew your partner's voice as if it were your own.

"Come in" You kept your eyes on the door, the doctor got up and left the room as Kiri walked in.

"Thank you for saving me." It was an awkward moment, but it didn't mean you weren't truly grateful for what he did.

"No problem, it's the manly thing to do!" He spoke with a smile on his face which really lifted your sprits.

"You know I was really worried," The redhead said changing his mood, "I was afraid I was never going to get you back...and that hurt-"

Wiping the single tear that rolled down his cheek you said, "If you just keep me for yourself then you wouldn't have to worry, I'd promise to never leave you,"

With what you said you pulled him closer and kissed him with desperation. When you fell all you could think about was not coming back to him and it made your heart ache, but you decided that it was the last time that would happen.

Kirishima was shocked at first then he kissed back with his own desperation burning deep within his heart. There was nothing on this earth that would make him let go of you after this kiss.

"Could I hold onto you forever without letting go? I promise that I'd do anything for you," He said after the kiss ended as you looked into his eyes the intense emotions he felt carried onto you.

"Yes, but if I stay safe in your arms I should keep you safe in mine,"

"I'll keep you safe if you keep me safe," He smiled then continued, "I don't ever want to see you get hurt again, I love you too much,"

Finally it clicked that you two had been in love with each other for quite some time, suddenly the world wasn't so lonely. Even the moment where you were dangling off seemed so distant, like it couldn't ever hurt you again.

You were dangling off a cliff only to be saved, and being saved made you realize you'd do it again if it meant falling in love with Kirishima again.
