Happy New Year's (Shoto X Reader)

Party poppers held in everybody's hands prepared. Sparkling cider poured in delicate glasses as everyone waited for the new year. It was New Year's Eve and you were all excited. The party got loud and a bit overwhelming for the two of you so you both had left and had gone outside into the garden.

Five more minutes left until the new year and no one could be more excited than the both of you. The dark velvet sky sprinkled with dancing fireflies and rhinestone stars. Tranquillity rang through the air and the concatenation of New Years bells played in the distance. People from inside the house were still chatting and partying, so they never noticed you and Todoroki sneaking away together.

Silently the two roamed the garden occasionally giggling and sharing looks. Snow dusted the trees and ground their footprints left behind in it.

"What's your New Years resolution?" Y/n asks sitting down on a bench under a tree. Beside her Shoto sat down and turned to face her.

Cupping her hands into his he began warming them up, "I'm not completely sure, but I'd like to be an amazing boyfriend to you." A soft smile spread across his face as he looks at Y/n in the eyes. His heterochromic eyes filled with nothing but love and adoration for her.

"Aww that's sweet Shoto, I'd like to be a wonderful girlfriend for you and I'd like to spend a lot of my time with you." With that the both of them hugged each other tightly for a long time,"But...what about Endevor?" Y/n thought about it. Though her family had no problem with the Todoroki's and most of the Todoroki's had no problem with her; Endevor did.

She didn't have a quirk and her mother and him had a past. They knew each other as kids they were even friends. One game of monopoly went wrong because Enji was being unfair and poof! Just like that life long hatred for being called out.

Shoto remembers the time his father found out about Y/n. The second he heard the family name it turned to hell. He didn't like the fact that she was quirkless too. "This will not stand! My child will not be in a relationship with a quirkless little twerp from the L/n family!" He slammed his fist on the desk and proceeded to throw a temper tantrum. Endevor was a grown man, but he was known to act like a child and throw pissy-fits over things he couldn't control.

"Screw him, he's an ass. I love you too much to give you up just because he said so. You know, I'd fight for you-" Her heart melted by his words she leaned in to kiss him.

They were not aware that five minutes had passed very quickly. They were locking lips passionately as it struck midnight. Their only source of lights before being the moon and stars against the midnight sky, but the suddenly everything bursted with life. Noise from the party was now able to be heard loudly, yet it played in the background like music while they kissed.

They only focused on each other and so the light illuminating their faces from things going off didn't distract them. They didn't even flinch. One thing did shake them though. A loud bang cracked through the air followed by a sizzle. It sounded like fireworks which startled Y/n enough to make her jump back falling off the bench only to be saved by Shoto Todoroki.

The couple looked up to see who or what it was. It was no fireworks it was Katsuki Bakugou's quirk and the popping of a sparkling cider bottle.

"Happy new year's idiots, they told me to bring this to you." He walked over and placed the glasses in my hands then put the bottle in Shoto's free hand. Quickly he had left the two of us alone.

"Happy New Years!" I couldn't help but chuckle. To think that we had our New Year's kiss made me happy. I heard that it was a lucky thing so I couldn't wait for this year.

"Happy New Year's,Y/n." He poured the celebratory drink into our glasses and we clinked them together as a toast. About an hour later the bottle was entirely gone.

"So they did realize we left-" I had now thought about it.

The both of us heard a flash then looked at each other, "Mina!" We exclaimed as we recognized the flash from her camera.
