"So how has everyone been?" Maria asks cutting into her Belgium waffles. We went to Dion's House a very nice restaurant a little ways away from campus. Her food was everything so brunch her at least two to three times a month was the best.

"Well Jade here is still all work and no play" earning an eye roll from me, "and I went on a date with Josh." doctoring her coffee and seasoning her omelet.

"Wow Josh Piercing? How was that?"

"It was actually nice we went out on a lunch date, then we made it back to Jade and I's place." taking a bite out of her omelet she waves her fork around and then points at me, " before Jade bursted in with an enormous amount of books causing us to run off and finish our night cap at his."

"How was he in the sack?"

"He had amazing tongue game unfortunately that's where it ended. I am actually trying to date now." she sighs heavily before drinking her coffee.

Shock pauses her from inserting her next bite of food into her mouth, "Why?"

"Because her family is still on her back about not bringing a decent guy home for her to marry after graduation." I insert going the stink eye from her I take a huge bite out of my chocolate chip pancakes.

"Ugh," Maria sighs aggravation present, "They have seriously got to let that go dude you're young and are allowed to have fun."

"I couldn't agree more but at least if I make a valid attempt they can't say I didn't try."

"Nice rhyme." I tell her putting my hand out for a high five that is ignored.

"No, and you know what you need to stop acting like you're a great grandmother and have some fun as well. We're not this young forever guys", Taking a long sip from her mimosa, "and I know just what we're going to do tonight." the smile on her face held nothing but mischief and I cringe just looking at it. The rest of our time is spent finishing  our very wonderful food.

After paying and going back to my apartment they finish making plans that I keep trying to find loop holes to get out of. "Come on dude we really need to have at least one night together. The last night we all went out was like a year ago." Maria says guilt tripping me and as if that wasn't enough she and Ginger both did their puss and boots eyes to get me into agreeing.

That my friends is how I ended up at a makeshift luau. Some of these people really needed to take better care of themselves you can't be shirtless and smell bad that just doesn't work. Pushing past a few strangers the drug me into the area where there was nothing but alcohol.

"As much as I would like to participate in that fun activity I still have my ankle to think about."

Cue in the eye rolls and sighs, "Fine but you are still going to make this a decent time." they both say after downing their shoots and heading towards the dance floor of druken buffoons. If only I stayed home is all I kept thinking as I went to find a decent place not so crowded to sit.

"So you do come out outside of your home." came the all to familiar voice of Lorenzo.

Sighing I pinch the bridge of my nose and decide not to respond to his taunt. Grabbing my water bottle I try and leave the location I was about to sit in.

Blocking my escape he takes a swig of water is in his red cup, "Heard you've been hanging with the big bad beast Caden." Not getting a response from me he continues. "You know his only hanging around to hook up with at least one of your friends." he teases me in a singsong tone still trying to gain some sort of response from me. Taking out my phone I am about to call Ginger when he knocks  my phone out of my hand it hits the concert I hiss knowing the screen is done for,  "What do you think you're doing? Huh, trying to call loverly when  I'm fucking talking to you." he spits out venom laced in his tone.

Bending over to pick up my phone I see the screen is exactly how I thought it would be. Fuck now I'm going to have figure out how I'm going to get a new phone. Glaring at him in anger and disgust, "Lorenzo what fuck is your problem?"

"His dick seems to only be big when his picking on someone who isn't his size." Caden's voice came easing the distress I hadn't realized I was even feeling. Lorenzo's back stiffens and the muscles around his shoulder bunch up. Turning on his hell he storms off chugging the rest of his drink tossing the cup on the ground.

Closing my eyes I breath a sigh of relief turning to face him, "Hey Caden." I say softly.

"What are you doing here sweetheart?"

"The girls wanted to come out tonight and I became designated driver. What about you?"

"Same with the guys I have a match near by after this." Nodding my head slowly at this information a crazy idea came to mind.

"What if we went with you guys to see your match?"

"You want to see me box."

"I mean why not " shrugging my shoulders, "I've heard you sing at that was just terrible. Plus this isn't really my thing."

"And you think an underground boxing match is?"

Shrugging again I use that as my answer I'd do anything to forget what Lorenzo just said about Caden. Plus I would be killing to birds with one stone girls night and quote on quote living a little. "Okay sweetheart if you think that's something you want to do I'll text you the address." turning to live I stop him.

"Wait ummm my phone is broken so if you could just tell me what time to leave and where I can use Gingers phone for directions."

Spinning around quickly his eyes are narrowed to slits, "What happened to your phone?"

"Umm I dropped it you know clumsy me." I nervously laugh. Why am I protecting him? Because you don't want Caden trying to fight your battles for you.

"Mmmmhmmm. I'll have one of the guys take you all then wouldn't want you to get into an accident." rolling my eyes at him he continues you, " We'll be leaving in an hour and we're parked by the cardboard palm tree near the curb announcing the party."

"Great I'll find my friends at me you there in an hour."
