Because I knew he was right at the door I did the only thing I could do. I texted back a lie saying I was at the library and he didn't have to come. But that was rendered mute when he opened my living room door as I sat there with a deer caught in headlights look on my face. This is so embarrassing one I should've hid in my room and two I forgot to re-lock the door after one of my mail check breaks. "Close your mouth sweetheart flies might get in." the stupid smirk written over his face frustrates me. Oh he thought he was just so funny. Narrowing my eyes at him and crossing my arms over my chest I asked, "Why do you think its acceptable to just let yourself into my home?"

Closing the door with his foot he sauntered into the room in his hands I noticed a pizza box from Marcos as well as a two litter of lemonade. "The bigger question is why didn't you lock the door after rushing back from the library?" Raising a brow he sat down next to me and took the remote out of my hands. I was dumbfounded in the fact that he not only caught me in my lie but he used it against me. "For your information Caden," I spat his name out, "I have been here all day and didn't want to be bothered."

"Huh, I thought that's what your friends do?" his sarcasm about this morning was not missed.

"UGH, You are so annoying." propping my foot back on the pillow, "Where are these friends you say you have? Are they hiding from you?"

Shrugging his stupid large shoulders, "Well I have Mike, my cousin Gabriel, and gym buddy Paul  but they're busy so you get the joy of being blessed with my presence." Smiling at me this time all saw was pearly whites. How did he keep such a smile when he fought for a living? Fringing shock "So they are hiding." I stated smugly.

"Nah, they have matches. Plus you're another friend and you're not hiding." He was ridiculous and I told him so with my un-lady like scoff. Looking at me in my eyes he repeated his earlier statement about us being friends. The tone he said them in was authoritative as if what he said was being carved into stone.

Blinking at him I couldn't believe how serious he was we never decided we were even close to being friends he was more of an annoying acquaintance. However here the giant was leaning back taking up all of the space surfing through the apps on the tv as if this was a normal thing. But even through my annoyance with all of this I couldn't help but be infatuated with how beautiful he really was. Not in the sense that he was an overly polished pretty man but in some of the scars I saw on his face from the night before. I wondered if he knew that even with markings on his face he was a rugged beauty. He was really different and it seemed as if the harder I fought him the more he wanted to be around. Maybe if I stopped fighting him on being friends he would eventually leave. Guys like a challenge and since his a professional boxer I'm sure he relished in them.

He needed to know he had no future here. Being alone was so that I could protect myself not that he pressured me into being anything other than myself. Plus with his profession I am positive he already had groupies he fucks. All he wants to be is friends. Even telling myself this made me wonder why. I was not an interesting person but maybe the hype of his everyday was something he wanted to escape from. I mean he has strange women stalking him tracking him down and recording his every move. I was so lost in thought that his voice startled me "The Avengers okay? Seems like you already watched everything leading to them."

Cleaning my throat I averted my eyes to the screen, "Yeah, sure that's fine." Getting settled into the couch cushions he opened the pizza box. Oh crap we need cups and plates getting up to get them.

His eyes shot to me, the intense stare had me frozen midway, "Where are you going?"

"Obviously to get cups and plates for us."

"Sit down I'll get them."  not wanting to get up anyway I plopped back down. Pausing as he got up he asked me where they were. Coming back with everything we sat in silence as we watched the avengers. The movie was perfect jammed packed my comedy and action. Once it was over and the wonderful pizza was gone we cleaned things up in silence. Without thinking I blurted out the question that had been racking in my head, "Why do you wanna be my friend?"

Side eyeing me he replied, "Your pretty cool and funny. I mean why does anyone want to be anyone's friend?"

"Well I mean most people have a few things in common that they like to do together. Sometimes it's just like mindedness."

"Exactly." With that he stood up and grabbed his phone. Reading whatever was on the screen he quickly typed back.

"What do you mean exactly? We hardly know anything about one another."

Opening his mouth to say something his screen lit up again, "Fuck sweetheart I got to go. I'll call you later, alright?"

Where did he always have to go? Nodding my head I told him okay after he left I made sure the door was locked. But after a minute of sitting back down I decided to take a shower and get ready for the night. Sighing I got up and got everything together for an all around body reset. That means getting the shaving cream, razors, exfoliating body scrub, face mask, and mouth cleansing products. Pinning my locks up I took a good forty five minute shower, lathered my body in coconut oil when I was done, throw on a oversized t-shirt, took my pain meds and went to sleep.
