i get up and grab my bag walking out. i know you can't just fucking leave school but i need to get out of here. i walk out and walk the few miles to my house. finally i make it home and go in.
carmen: hey kate. aren't you supposed to still be at school?
you: i'm quitting public school
carmen: why?
you: everyone thinks i'm "daddy's little rich bitch" and i just can't have people thinking that. especially my friends. if i even still have friends
she hugs me.
carmen: i'm sorry. but i'm not letting you quit. your not a quitter.
i sigh and go to my room. i just lay down in my bed watching NCIS and cuddling with cookie. back to my old life. being lonely and watching my show. i've been laying there for a few hours when carmen opens my door.
carmen: you have a visitor
amelie steps into my room and i sigh once again.
you: what
amelie: why'd you leave?
she sits on the edge of my bed.
you: now that's all people are gonna think of me. i didn't wanna lie to you guys but i wanted you all to treat me normally. i've never been normal. i've never even had a single friend before you guys.
she hugs me.
amelie: we won't treat you different. we don't care about your money. we love you for you. addison has money and we don't treat her different
i nod a little.
you: who was that nessa girl?
she goes quiet and then speaks awkwardly.
amelie: she- she's josh's ex.
oh god.
amelie: she tried to get at bryce. then josh and her fought and broke up. plus she was kinda obsessed with josh. it was creepy. he doesn't have feelings for her though.
i nod.
amelie: and none of us are mad at you. i promise. we just all reacted how we did because your dad is jordan fucking connor!
i laugh.
amelie: he's the biggest business owner on the east coast!
she's good at cheering me up. we laugh and hug.

the next day i didn't go to school. i just wanted to kinda let things sit so that when i go back maybe people will have forgotten.
