the next morning josh takes me home. steven and carmen went to get everything cleaned up. i'm not supposed to be walking so right now josh is wheeling me out of the hospital in a wheel chair.
josh: we can go get lunch if you want?
you: c- can you just take me home?
josh: of course
he gets me into the car and drives to my house. once i'm out of the car, he gets me back into my wheelchair. but my porch has steps. so jack comes out getting the wheelchair while josh holds me up to help me in.

i'm laying on the couch cuddled up against josh. apparently my dad called someone and got all our struggles replaced. yet he hasn't even talked to me since all of this went down.
you: j?
josj: ya baby?
you: do you know if my dads coming home soon?
josh's pov~
katelyn looks up at me with those big glossy eyes of hers.
josh: um ya he'll probably be home soon to see you
she smiles a bit and goes back to watching NCIS. i only said that to her to give her hope. i get that me connor loves her but he doesn't act like it. it just makes me so mad. he has the chance to see his amazing daughter all the fucking time but he never does. it used to not bother me as much but after this- it makes me fucking furious. katelyn acts like she's not upset about it but i know she is.

suddenly the door to the house swings open and in walks mr connor. he doesn't even acknowledge katelyn meanwhile she's just smiling that he's home. that's what pisses me off. kate was shot for fucks sake and he doesn't even say a word to her.
jordan: carmen has everything been repla-
josh: mr connor
jordan: not now joshua. whatever it is can wait
my voice gets more stern. i've never talked to an adult like this. my mom would kill me.
josh: no. it can't fucking wait.
i stand up and kate looks at me confused. her dad looks at me with one eyebrow raised and an annoyed face.
josh: your house was broken into and your daughter was shot. you didn't come to the hospital to see her and you didn't even come home to see her! you only came to make sure all your shit was here!
jordan: don't tell me how i should parent my daughter. i'm a very busy person
josh: that's not an excuse!! i'm sorry sir. i respect the shit outta you but- you never even fucking called or anything to check on her! dammit she's always waiting for you to come home because she wants to see you! your never around and it kills her!
i look to my girlfriend sitting on the couch with a little sad face. her dad doesn't say anything. he just stands there quietly. until...
jordan: i need to speak to you privately josh.
his voice is very stern and i gulp a bit. i just fucking screamed at him. oh god. i'm scared for my life. he heads to the kitchen and i slowly follow. it's around the corner to the point where katelyn can't see or hear us.
