josh's pov~
the doorbell rings so i go downstairs and open it. my eyes widen.
josh: uhhh mom??
my mom comes to the front door. her eyes go wide too. i'm front of us, there's a box and baby in a carrier.
mom: what is-
josh: i have no clue
she picks up the baby and i get the box. my mother goes inside and sits on the couch with the baby. i take the box to the kitchen table and open it. there's stacks of papers. some staples together, and others not. i start looking through the stacks. one reads,
"Connor Industries"
wtf? i scan over it and see that the company is now in my name. that can't be right. when jordan died, he left the company in katelyns name. i look to another stack of papers. that one reads,
"Deed to 749 Lincoln Drive"
that's kate's address. it's now made out to me. i'm so confused. another stack of papers.
"Carmen Edwards"
"Steven Gillis"
that's katelyns maid and butler. i scan over those papers. it states that carmen and steven now work for me. what the hell is going on??

there's a few stacks about all of the Connor's cars going to me. i don't understand any of this. next is a bank statement saying 2 million dollars has been transferred to my account. this doesn't make sense. then there's one last stack.
"Custody Agreement"
i read over it and it says that the child will go to me. at the bottom was katelyns signature. what child? the one at the door? also, there's a birth certificate for that baby i'm guessing, but no name for the child. there's one more thing in the box. something i didn't see before. an envelope addressed to "Joshua" i quickly open it, hoping to find an answer to what all of this means.

hi baby. i know your probably really confused with all of this. i just wanna let you know i'm sorry for everything. you know i love you which is why i had to do this. everyone i love ends up leaving me in some sort of way. my dad passed. as well as my mom. mads and i haven't talked as friends in forever. and i just don't want the same thing to happen with you. so the papers in the box. J, your now the owner of Connor Industries. you're more than welcome to make it Richards Industries. Carmen and Steven will now work for you. you can live at my house or sell it. it's your choice. i've transferred 2 million dollars into your bank account so that way if you need anything, it's covered. now the last thing in the box. it's probably what's confusing you most. josh we have a daughter. apparently i got pregnant on my birthday, the same day my father passed. as soon as i found out, i started planning how i was gonna do all of this. i already love this child too, so that's why i have to leave her too. so yes, she's your daughter. i already signed the custody agreement. she is fully yours if you sign the paper. please do it. you and her can live in the big house. carmen and steven will watch her while your at work. the money will be there for anything you need. her health insurance, clothes, food, everything. please don't try to call or text me because i've changed my number. i wanted to say goodbye in person but i knew if i did, you'd try to change my mind about all of this. i am so so so sorry for leaving you. i really do love you with all of my heart. your gonna do great things in life josh. i have no doubts. and i want you to give our daughter the best life possible. she doesn't have a name, that parts up up to you. i didn't wanna have to do all this but i just couldn't stay. this is probably the worst break up in the history of break ups. so once again, im really sorry. i love you endlessly, forever and always. goodbye josh :(
