Lady Dimitrescu kept you close at all points of the day, checking your cast and making sure you were comfortable. You were getting faster, even though she was more than happy enough to help and slow down. She counted your steps compared to hers, tracking down everything.
1 step, 5 steps, 1 step, 5 steps... 2 steps, 5 steps... 3 steps, 5 steps, 3 steps, 5 steps...
Lady Dimitrescu could feel somewhere deep within the gnawing guilt of what happened, everything that had happened. Pushing away the gnawing guilt, it came back during dinner from mere gnawing to full on chewing. She tried to eat, but mostly picked at what was on her plate. Watching the pallets be taken for shipment, Alcina saw all the cases and pallets finally go. Going to her room, she found you looking over your cast. "I'm sorry about what happened at Donna's Manor." She sat beside you, her voice just audible. She waited for your response, hearing only a soft "it's alright, it's in your nature." Alcina felt her heart race, clenching her hands into fists.
Stop saying that!
"No, it's not alright." Lady Dimitrescu snapped out, catching your scared expression. Her heart sank, gently pulling you into a hug. "I didn't mean to scare you. I just don't want you to constantly keep forgiving me over things that I am completely capable of controlling that end up hurting you immediately. It's not fair to you." She spoke softly, having you look up at her. "It is within your nature. Tell me... When you first met me, did you want to devour me?" Your words struck Alcina like a bat, catching her off-guard for a moment.
How do I tell you the truth?
Alcina blinked for a couple of heartbeats then sighed. "Part of me did want to devour you, the other half was astonished that you'd fight off Cassandra with teeth. I did want to devour you, but I enjoy your company. Especially since you've been honest and you're so trusting." Alcina felt you extend her claws one by one, a mild pain growing in her hand from them being unsheathed.
"What about now?" Your words were soft and kind. "Do you want to devour me right now?"
My dear rabbit, as much as I'd love to... The thought of your blood is making me ill.
