Chapter 99

Looking at yourself on the mirror, you gave a big grin as Alcina came up behind you. She had a dress similar to her usual dress, but it was in black. She was smiling as well, but deep down you were a little intimidated. You were going to finally cross a boundary that you didn't think you'd cross. For the first time, you were going to try human flesh. You've heard many things, but you were going to make that leap.

You took a seat at the table, seeing Heisenberg, Moreau, your daughters, and Alcina. Part of you expected to see Donna and Mia, but reminding yourself that they're gone. It hurt to remind yourself that they're gone.

I caused their deaths. It's my fault they're dead.

 You looked up after making sure you're seated properly. Your heart rose when you saw your parents coming to the table. You were beyond excited, then saw Estella's birth parents. They were making their way to the table quietly, eyes glued on the two of you. You looked up at Alcina, feeling her gently hold your hand.

I made you kill them.

You looked at the meal in front of you, it looked good and made you salivate, but remembering it's human flesh made you swallow back your hunger. Everyone else who wasn't Cassandra, Daniela, Bela, and Alcina had a similar appearing meal, but the scent was definitely different. You sliced into the tenderloin in front of you, watching it seperate with just a fork. Alcina definitely liked her food tender, and if this was on a bone it'd fall right off with no effort. You could feel your body already try to reject the meat on your fork, but you pushed through. You married Alcina, gave her parts of your body to make her stronger in situations she might have died in, and she saved your life multiple times. You owe this to her. Finally putting the bite-sized chunk in your mouth, you began to chew.

The seasonings used pushed away the bitter strong taste that tried to push through. The glaze used sweetened the meat nicely, prompting you to take another bite. You didn't see it, but Alcina looked at you with shock as you took a second, third, fourth, and more bites. After there was no more meat on your dish, you ate the other food on your plate. You met Alcina's gaze. She was shocked, not expecting you to eat the dish so quickly. You were curious why some of the foods were sweet at first, but you understood as the strong bitter taste tried to push through after. Alcina spoke to Estella's biological parents away from you, having a maid bring you another serving of tenderloin.

Donna and Mia would like this too.

Perking up at hearing your name, you looked at Daniela, seeing her smile. "What do you think?" She asked, head tilted slightly. "No wonder you four eat this a lot, your chef does a good job." You spoke after swallowing the bite in your mouth. You caught your mother's gaze, seeing curiosity in her eyes. "What are you eating?" She asked, tilting her head. "Oh! This is... Uh... Berkshire Pork. they wanted me to try it out for suckling pig." You lied, giving a closed-mouth smile. You saw her nod, feeling yourself sigh with relief internally. Just as you finished your second helping, Alcina came back in.

What did you agree on?

"Estella will be with her parents four days out of the week and she will be with us for the rest." She whispered to you. You nodded, giving her a kiss on the cheek. As the dinner finished, you found yourself picking at leftovers, even bringing a plate of shredded meat to your room to snack on. Laying beside Alcina as you happily ate, you looked up. "So, what do you think? Is that the leg?" She asked. You nodded, swallowing. "Your chef can really get rid of the bitter flavor, this is delicious." You chirped, sharing with her. "Well, would you like to eat it for now on?" Alcina inquired, seeing you give a shrug and a nod. "I mean, I'll have to be incorporated so I can ease into it. Perhaps every other day?" You suggested. Alcina gave a soft laugh, giving you a kiss. "We can do that."

I miss my friends.
