Donna slowly got up, feeling her chest ache from heartbreak. She looked up to Alcina, stifling a whimper as tears threatened to appear. She looked away, unable to keep looking at the woman who stole you from her.
I know why they love you.
Donna slipped a hand to her face, wiping away tears that had formed and picked up Angie. She couldn't be here any longer, she knew that if she stuck around in the castle, there would be a higher chance of seeing you. A higher chance of her breaking down. She looked up to Alcina again, her beautiful golden eyes like two orbs of warm light. "You'll find someone who loves you dearly. I'm sure you will." Alcina spoke softly, Donna feeling her blood boil. She didn't want anyone else. She wanted you.
You're so beautiful, so strong, a beacon of love. It's not fair.
"If things were different, would they love me?" Donna asked quietly, looking for any hint of confirmation. "Maybe." Donna felt her heart drop at Alcina's words, a maybe meant you would probably be with Alcina anyways. You always found your way back to her.
It's not fair.
Donna felt Alcina's thumb gently placed on her chin, prompting her to look up a little more. "(Y/N) wouldn't like me asking this, but would you like to stay for dinner? Perhaps you and the girls can spend time together?" Alcina offered, giving a pitiful grin.
It's not fair.
Donna gave a small nod, Angie shifting and awaking. Much had to be explained to the doll and much to plan. Alcina lead Donna to her own room, waving to Mia along the way. "Why do you keep Mia around? Wasn't it proven that she was horrible to Ethan?" Angie asked, Alcina looking back for a moment. "Mia is only here because of their feelings for (Y/N), and they are here to make sure that if I do give into my vampiric tendencies, that I don't go after my dear rabbit." Alcina softly explained. Donna gave a small nod, thinking. Last time someone tried to make Alcina's bloodlust rise was Mia, and that cost her a hand and a kidney.
Donna sat on the bed, thinking as Alcina left the room. Rabbits would be too easy and Alcina had already gotten over using rabbits to remind her of you. Donna shook her head, what was she thinking? She would break any trust she had with you and break the already brittle truce with Alcina. Perhaps she didn't need to be involved, perhaps... She could just be a third party.
No. It's not fair, but it's not for me to meddle with.
Donna left Angie in the room for a moment, wanting to go see Mia. Perhaps she would have some insight on her situation.
Crossing the hall, Donna peered into the room, seeing Mia working with something. "W-what's that?" Donna asked quietly, mentally cussing herself out for suddenly stuttering. "Prosthetic, Heisenberg gave it to me. Said I just needed to rig it so the fingers follow the nervous signals..." Mia muttered, the hand and it's fingers finally moving as intended. "How would you go about winning (Y/N)'s heart?" Donna quickly spoke, seeing Mia immediately look up with a look of shock. "You can't. Their heart is firmly with Alcina. Plus, I can't say anything about it because I'm what lead her to Alcina." Mia quietly explained.
What do you mean?
Donna searched Mia's gaze, trying to understand. "So, a while back, I was with (Y/N) while also with Ethan. We came back from Louisiana and a lot of shit got exposed and we didn't see each other until about a month ago. I wanted to come back and take them back to America, but that's like asking a turtle to leave it's shell." Mia explained, going into full detail of how you two met and how you came to Romania.
Donna blinked, thinking. She nodded, then went back to her room. Angie had just put down something and dinner was called. She put on her veil, feeling much more comfortable with it on.
It's not my place to meddle.
Donna sat in a chair, Bela to one side and Estella across from her. To her right was Mia, just next to her is where you were, closest to Alcina as possible. The dinner was quiet, not even Angie spoke. That was until Daniela made a passing mention of seeing a stray pregnant cat outside and having brought it inside. She didn't look to Daniela though, she had her gaze on you while she ate. Watching your every move in the corner of her eye. The way you smiled and leaned into Alcina's touch, the way you looked at her.
It is my place to meddle.
Donna finished the last of her food, maids taking the plate and silverware. She needed you to stop looking at Alcina with such love in your eyes, it hurt too much, it brought a searing pain to her heart. Realizing the pain in her palm, Donna looked down at her hand. She had been clenching her fists so hard that she drew blood. This was war now. Donna needed you.
I am in love with you.
