Daniela raced down the halls as fast as she could, screaming with joy. Tomorrow was October 31st. Tomorrow was the wedding. You and her mother had been spending more time together and your family had settled into some rooms of the castle. What was even more exciting was that she could meet some more of your family. Aunts, uncles, other grandparents. More people for Daniela to befriend. She looked back, seeing your niece hot on her heels. How many laps around the castle had they done? Daniela tripped and skidded across the floor, landing with a loud huff. Your niece ran up to Daniela, gently tagging her. "You're it!"
Daniela got up, laughing. It wasn't until Bela opened her bedroom door, glaring at the two of them. "Do you two have to be like a pair of rhinoceroses running around the castle!? You're going to wake everyone up!" Bela hissed, her hair tangled and eyes droopy from tiredness. "Go play tag somewhere else!" Bela snapped, not letting Daniela get a word in. "No more tag?" Your niece asked, helping Daniela up. "We don't have to play tag, but you know what we can do?" Daniela whispered, grinning.
Daniela got the tea set ready in her room, using your niece's stuffed animals as guests. She didn't mind dressing up like a princess to play tea party, honestly your niece was the only one who had the energy to run around. Daniela looked up, seeing Cassandra in the doorway. "Daniela, where did my rex g- Why is he in a dress?" Cassandra glared at Daniela and your niece, getting an awkward grin from Daniela. "Tea party?" Daniela held up a cup, trying to change the subject. Luckily, Cassandra joined in, closing the door and willingly eating biscuits and tea, or in this case pretzel sticks and apple juice.
After the little tea party, Daniela let your niece run off and check out her dress. She had to clean up the spilled apple juice, crumbs, and stuffed animals. Cassandra helped, but primarily ate the pretzel sticks. "Daniela, how do you have the energy to run around like that? Especially with a hoodie on, you don't wear your dress anymore." Cassandra spoke up, her mouth full of food. Daniela cleaned up the last of the apple juice, looking up. "Hoodies and sweatpants have pockets. Pockets for granola bars and candy." Daniela dug through her pockets, pulling out a couple granola bars, a bag of corn puffs, a handful of fruit snack packs, and a tiny jar of honey tightly sealed. "I always have snacks on me now." Daniela explained, placing her snacks back in her pockets and opening the bag of corn puffs, offering some to Cassandra.
"Also, move that board." Daniela pointed to the board that was covering a part of the wall. As Cassandra moved it, there stood a mini fridge. She opened it, revealing tons of soda, pudding cups, and jello cups. "Can I have one?" Cassandra pulled out a chocolate pudding cup, getting a nod from Daniela. "So, how do you feel about the wedding being tomorrow?" Daniela asked as Cassandra closed the mini fridge and moved the board back. Cassandra looked up, opening the cup and using the lid as a makeshift spoon.
"Honestly, after everything that has happened and (Y/N) putting in the effort to get to know us... I'm looking forward to it. I hated (Y/N), but now that I know them... They're pretty cool." Cassandra opened up, then took a bite of her snack. "Also, why were you so friendly with (Y/N) to begin with?" Cassandra asked.
Oh boy, I should've told you about this!
Daniela put her bag of corn puffs down, sitting up on her bed. "I was spying on some tourists and (Y/N) was one of them. A stray cat had been following them ever since they arrived and (Y/N) went to a store and bought the cat some fish sticks to eat. I thought that... Maybe I should be nice to them too because they showed such kindness to even a little kitten." Daniela explained, looking over. Cassandra looked a little unimpressed, but smiled and laughed a little. "Yup, that sounds like (Y/N)." Cassandra mumbled. Checking the time, it was only 3pm. Daniela got up, leaving her room with Cassandra to do last minute check-ins with everyone. The other guests had gotten hotels at the village, the maids were cleaning every speck of the castle down to every nook and cranny.
As Daniela walked around, she missed Aspen as the old rescue wouldn't be able to attend the wedding. She had passed away a few nights ago, buried beside Blitz. Daniela didn't want to dwell on the sad moments. Tomorrow was going to be great!
