Alcina ended the meeting after answering questions about the new child, catching Donna's gaze on you. She could feel anger coursing through her veins, skin bristling with the memory of what she took part in doing to you. She lingered nearby, listening to Donna's words to you to make sure she didn't try to pull anything. "You both adopted a child?" Donna quietly questioned, Alcina's eyes rolling. "Yeah, we just talked about this. You're still not... Are you?" Alcina went on to look for her quartet of daughters, catching the last bits of the conversation. "(Y/N), I love you so much, and-" "Donna, we've been through this." Alcina gritted her teeth, she hated when this happened.

Who does Donna think she is? We've been through this so many times, you can't have (Y/N) because they're mine. We literally got married, you were there!

Walking up and down the halls, Alcina passed one of the rooms, seeing her daughters around a little table. She took a couple steps back, taking a look inside. Aspen seemed to have dozed off on the bed, the girls joking about the other lords and teaching Estella more words and showing her how to read. It was a nice sight, but her mind continued to linger on Donna. She wanted to know why she liked you so much. There was no reason to not like you, perhaps your lack of self preservation, but even then Alcina knew that liking that part about you could spell trouble. It was something she worried about, something that wasn't right.

Heading back to the room where the meeting was held, you were leaving the room and walked past Alcina. She could feel that you felt awkward and shameful. Poking her head in the room, Alcina saw Donna sitting in her chair, face in hands as she softly weeped. She couldn't just let her sit there and cry, especially with a child in the house. How would she explain that the sad lady was in love with one of her parents? Alcina came into the room, awkwardly placing a hand on Donna's shoulder. "How do you do it?" Alcina tilted her head at Donna's words. "How do you manage to keep the one person that I've ever felt affection for?" Donna asked quietly.

How?

Alcina swallowed her words, trying to think of what to say. "They chose me." Alcina softly spoke, keeping her tone gentle. "Even after the attack, the need to eat human flesh, the vampirism, being ripped to shreds, how?" Donna whimpered out.

"Because after everything, it all comes back down to trust."
