Alexandra Stone.
It was midnight and the house was dead silent. Alexandra was still awake sill shocked by what happened. Her only sense of peace, advice, and sanity was gone.
Theodore was asleep on the couch and she was in the guest bedroom laying there silently looking at the ceiling. If she could go back she might have been able to help her Grandma. If she was faster than she was.
She got up placing her feet against the scoring cold ground and walked silently to the bathroom trying to make little noise so Theo could sleep. She went to the mirror and looked at her puffy eyes. She retire to remember where she was.
Theo's dads. But his old house he still owned. On a beach. She remembered. When she was a kid she would come here, and Theo would always throw her in the beach. When they were kids.
When they got older they started sneaking off here. She smiled at the thought. Only for a second she smiled then her face turned back to sadness at the memory of her Grandma.
As it was, it took her a long time to grieve over her mother. She was much closer to her Grandma than she was her mother. She could make out the memory of both of them coming to this house on the beach. It was faint but still there. The smiles on their faces. She could make out a picture of her mom.
Looking around in the bathroom at the dusty shelves and the old sink with the tiny reflection the mirror brought her she felt relaxed. Being back to a familiar home.
She walked out of the bathroom back into the room. It was dull with minimum lighting, the bed had grey curtains around it for privacy. She crawled back in bed and warmed the sheets up that had grown cold without her there.
And fell into an unconscious world.
___________
Theodore woke her the next morning and she got up following him into the kitchen. "What do you want for breakfast?" He asked in a calming voice.
"I'm not hungry." She said which was obviously because of her grieving. Theo knew this and he took her hand.
"I know this is hard. But that doesn't make it any less real." He said to her, and stood up. "Now what do you want for breakfast? I can make anything you want." He said smiling. She shrugged.
"I don't know if I'll be able to keep it down." She said standing up to leave. "I just want to sit at this window and watch the beach." She said pointing to a big glass window taking up most of the wall. It faced the beach and showed a nice view of everything.
She at there staring at the waves crashing on the sand. She was truly broken.
I just want her back.
I just want her back.
Was all she kept repeating in her mind. The images of her Grandma lying there dead in the ground while she was trying to resuscitate her, haunted her mind.
She wanted to see Draco. She wanted him to comfort her. Yes, Theo was fine but no one else could provide her with the ultimate comfort as him, as he was the only one alive that could.
-
Draco Malfoy.
Something is wrong. He said to himself as he tried to think. Lex, something was wrong with her. He couldn't place his finger on it.
He sat there wondering what was wrong, and when the dark lord would order him to do something or he would get tortured next. He was waiting any minute now.
Until an owl hit his window and scared him to death. The owl flew right back inside with the letter in its beak. The owl waited on his desk while he opened the letter.
He opened the letter and began reading.
"Dear Draco,
The dark lord wants you down at the parlor in fifteen minutes, to discuss, some... things. Anyway be down there and don't be late.
Lucius."
Draco took the letter and ripped it up. He got his suit on, opening the door. He walked down the dark narrow hallway with shadows everywhere. He walked down the stairs and onto the hardwood floor.
He made his way to the parlor and he was one minute early. But as he turned around the door creaked open. "Come in Draco." He said waving him in.
He entered the room and sat in a chair. The dork lords scratchy voice began to speak. "Well well, thank you for meeting me Draco." He paused. "I called you hear at this time to talk about Ms. Stone."
Draco's veins iced. "What about her?" Draco said threw gritted teeth.
"Her Grandma was murdered by one of my followers yesterday at noon." He aid ever so calm. Draco froze.
No.
I need to find Alexandra.
Come on look normal.
No. This can't be happening.
I can begin to feel what she feels.
He told himself. He needed to find her. "But don't worry your precious girl won't be touched." He said with ease. And Draco's blood pressure went down a little.
"Thank you— my lord." He said to him in a thankful tone.
"But only if you displease me will I hurt her." He said with caution. "Draco, that is all for today you are dismissed." He aid opening the door with his wand again.
Draco walked out and ran to his room. He had to write a letter to her, and quick.
Dear Lex,
I am sorry to hear about your Grandma, I liked her. If I could be there right now I would, what killed your Grandma was a death eater. Not me I would— could never.
But I love you and I want to be with you as soon as I can. I love you.
Draco. With that he sealed the letter and gave it to the owl.
It flew away. And he went back to staring around the room.
