Katniss POV- (9am, four hours later)
"Wake up, sleepy butt!" I tease Peeta to an awake state.
He opens his bright blue eyes and smiles a little bit, "Hi." murmurs.
"Hey." I smile widely.
Peeta sits up a little, leaning on his elbows, "Ready to go explore this crazy place?"
I nod, and laugh.
"Well, let's get started." He says, getting up and out of bed, I follow.
He takes a quick shower and I do too.
We both get dressed in our finest clothes (considering) and before I know it, we are exploring the streets of the Capitol.
And as I've always said, Capitol people are crazy all around.
Their hair, makeup, clothes, accents, personalities, all of it.
Crazy.
"Wanna go get some breakfast over there?" Peeta asks me, pointing across the street from where we stand.
"Yeah." I say and together we walk through the crowded streets of citizens.
A few minutes later, we finally make it to the restaurant, the line is long though.
"We can go somewhere else if you don't want to wait." Peeta says sweetly.
"No, it's okay. We have all the time in the world, right?" I remind him, however our time is ticking.
Neither Peeta and I work so it's really not a big deal but then again it is.
Peeta shrugs, "Yeah, we do." He says.
We wait in a long line of Capitol idiots for what seems like forever before we finally get a table.
"Here are your seats." The waiter says in his thick accent, placing two menus on the table.
Peeta and I thank him and then take a seat.
"Have anything you want, Katniss." Peeta murmurs.
I nod and look down at the menu, it's filled with delightful sounding things, but the prices are out of the roof, high.
I look back up and see Peeta reading the menu. I kick him under the table, "Peeta, look at the prices."
He looks up, a little offended by my abuse and then looks back down.
I know he's seen the prices of the food when his eyes grow about 10x their normal size.
"Expensive, huh?"
"Yeah, but still, have whatever you want." He says, nonchalantly.
"Peeta, it's okay." I say.
"No, you can have whatever you want." He says.
I shrug, 'Giving in' but when the waiter comes I let Peeta order first and I order the most inexpensive thing on the list.
A long while later, our food arrives, we eat, Peeta pays the not-too-overly expensive bill and we are on our way again.
"That was delicious. Thank you." I say, kissing Peeta on the cheek.
He smiles, "Katniss, why didn't you order more? I've seen you eat and you can eat."
I shrug.
"There was like half a serving of food there. I told you that you could order whatever and how much ever you wanted."
I shrug, "It's okay, Peeta." I say.
"I have money. Remember, my dad still pays me more than what I was making and we don't use that much. Plus, I've saved us back money for our honeymoon for quite some time now. It's okay." He laughs a little.
I nod and we continue walking down the street, hand in hand.
"Peeta?"
"Yeah?" He asks softly watching everything around us cautiously.
I take a deep breath, "What do you think of me getting a job?" I ask curiously.
He stops right there in the middle of the walk way and turns to me.
Stupid Capitol people murmuring rude comments to us and b-lining around us.
"Why?" He asks.
I look down at my shoes, "You've supported me the entire time we have been together. It's my turn to help pay the bills or buy groceries." I tell him guiltily.
"Katniss, you don't have to work. I can support us just fine on my own. My money is your money too and I'm going to support you forever."
"I know, I just feel guilty. Please, I just want to try it?" I plead.
Peeta let's out a groan, "Okay." He gives in.
"Thank you!" I say, jumping into his arms. He hugs me tightly and I hug him too.
"I'm sorry, Katniss. I just don't want you to have to do more than you should but if you want to get a job, I won't stop you." He smiles.
"Good. Maybe, you could start some of your business classes online soon?" I suggest.
"That's a good idea. I'll look into it."
"Okay." I say but I can tell he's still unconvinced.
"Let's go." He says after a while.
Peeta takes me to the President's home. We can't actually go in, but we stand on the yard and entry way of the place.
"Wow. It's so big." I say in amazement.
There's two sets of stair cases, in between the stairs is a 6 tier waterfall. There's so many windows and doors too.
"Maybe we can live in a place like that one day." Peeta says softly.
I look over at him, he just stares at the mansion, "Maybe, but I'm happy where we are."
He looks over and grins, "Me too."
I hide a soft smirk and look down, out of the corner of my eye, I see him do the same.
He takes me all over the city.
We visit every sight, enjoying each other's company and every second we are together.
"How about we head back to the hotel?" Peeta suggests, giving me a tired look.
"Sure." I say and we leave.
We have been walking around since about 9 this morning and it's 5pm.
We get back to the hotel and we take a nap.
Around 7pm, Peeta tells me he has me a surprise.
"What might that be?" I ask as I usually do, knowing I won't receive an answer.
Peeta chuckles and walks over to me and puts his arms around my waist, "My dear, sweet, beautiful, crazy Katniss, you should know by now that you won't get a thing out of me."
I giggle a little bit, "I know but it's always worth a try."
He scoffs and kisses my lips, giving my waist a squeeze.
"Will it at least be fun?" I ask curiously.
He chuckles, "I hope you think it's fun."
"Peeta, anything with you is fun."
"And anything with you is fun, Katniss Mellark." He chuckles and releases me.
I feel my cheeks burn, "What?" He asks with a grin.
"Nothing, it's just that's just one of the first times you've called me that." I say happily.
He gives me a soft smile and continues to do whatever he was doing and I do too.
