Katniss POV- (A little later that day)
"What do you want for dinner?" Peeta asks, not making eye contact with me.
"Nothing." I say, not looking at him, staring at the television.
"Katniss, just because we are mad at each other, doesn't mean I don't care about you. You need to eat something, you haven't eaten all day." Peeta pushes.
"I'm not hungry." I say stubbornly, even though I'm starving and I've felt light headed all day.
"Fine." Peeta says, exiting the room.
I roll my eyes, pouting.
I wish this would stop.
I don't know if we are keeping up this act of hatred towards each other because we need to for counseling or because it's actually there.
I'm just so confused about everything.
"Peeta, listen. I'm sorry but we can't just act like nothing is wrong between us and go back to the way it was before but if you are willing to try, then I am too." I say, finding him in the kitchen.
"Okay, but I don't think it's going to work like that." He says, staring down at the counter top.
"I know but we can at least try to tolerate each other until we figure out what we are going to do." I say.
"Katniss, just stop. You're acting like we are getting a divorce." Peeta shoots.
"I'm not acting like anything. I asked if we could try to at least try to act like nothing was wrong."
"But something is wrong."
"Obviously something is wrong. This is probably the stupidest fight we've ever had." I say, walking away.
If he doesn't want to at least try to fix it then I don't either.
"I agree but we seem to have it all the time. And it's not like I can kiss you and every problem of ours vanishes. This isn't a movie."
"No, but you could try." I say.
He shakes his head, "No. I'm done trying, Katniss. These are my feelings. I care about this subject a lot." Peeta says.
"Okay, Peeta. I never said we couldn't have kids. What don't you understand?" I yell, totally disobeying Mags' orders.
"Maybe it's not just about the whole baby thing, Katniss. I feel like you don't even like me anymore! We never agree on anything and I try to give you what you want and try to have fun with you but it's hard. There's only so many things I can think to do." Peeta says.
"Fine, Peeta but you know that I love you, even if I am difficult." I say, walking upstairs and he of course, follows.
He tries to grab my hand but I pull away, "No." I say and he stands there, defeated.
"It's like I can't even help you anymore." He says staring at me with sadness in his eyes.
How could everything go from perfect to this?
It's crazy to think that just three months ago, we got married, expecting everything to be okay and now look at us.
"It's been three months, Peeta. How are we going to do this for 80 more years?" I ask him.
"I don't know. Maybe we won't." He says.
"Are you saying you want to separate or you hope one of us dies before then because that's what it sounds like to me." I shoot.
