Peeta POV- (The next day, a few hours after Finnick and Annie left)

"Katniss!" I call from the car.

She's sitting in the yard, pulling weeds while I clean out the cars.

She looks up, sweat across her brow and squinted eyes, "Huh?"

"What is this?" I ask curiously, holding up one of the to go boxes we use at the bakery along with our stamp on the outside.

Her eyes dilate and she stands up and walks over to me.

"Oh, Annie and I went to the bakery to eat."

I furrow my brows, "I thought she said you ate at a diner?"

Katniss sighs.

She is hiding something.

"She did and I didn't correct her. I'm sorry." She says defensively.

I take a deep breath, not really having the energy to argue with her.

"Okay. Did anything happen that I need to know about?"

Katniss shakes her head, "Not really. Your mom wasn't there, that's why I went. I don't know why I actually went though. Ryan and David weren't there either. Just your Dad. We talked but that's all."

"And?" I shoot back before thinking how that sounds to her.

"The only thing that happened was he made a comment that made it sound like he didn't believe that I loved you. I tried to blow it off but it really hurt my feelings. Annie doesn't think it was meant to hurt me though."

"Well, do you?"

Katniss frowns, "Peeta, are you seriously going to question me on that too?" She asks, throwing down a handful of weeds.

"You lied to me."

She turns around and walks into the house.

I groan and follow after her.

I open up the door as she stomps up the stairs and into our bedroom.

"Katniss, please just talk to me? I'm not mad. I just want to talk." I say, banging on the door.

"Please, just go. I didn't tell you exactly for this reason, because you'd see something in your dad's question and question it yourself."

I frown, regretting my choice of words, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. I know your answer, Katniss."

"I told him my answer and then we left." She says opening the door.

I just stare into her eyes and I see she's telling me the truth, "But why did you go? That's what I don't understand. Was it to talk to someone or to my mom or dad or what?" I ask, confused.

She shrugs her shoulders but looks me in the eyes, "I don't know why."

"Okay, I believe you." I say truthfully.

I understand.

I do a lot of things that I don't know why I do them too, but I do.

She just stares down at the floor, "Okay." She says, pushing past me and heads back down the stairs.

"Is that all that happened?"

"Yeah."

I take a deep breath, "I'm serious. Is that all that happened?"

The look on her face tells me no but her lips lie

"Yes. That's all that happened."

I swallow hard, "Why did you hide it from me then?"
