Katniss POV- (The next day)

"Peeta, will you please change Carter's diaper and then put sunscreen on her?" I ask him politely as I finish packing our picnic lunch, with Carter asleep in my arms.

Peeta nods and carefully takes her from me, "Come here, baby girl. We are gonna go play at the park!" Peeta says enthusiastically, though she's asleep.

I smile to myself and close the bag shut, "I am going to make her a new bottle and make sure there's diapers and stuff in her diaper bag." I tell Peeta as he lays Carter on the couch and starts dressing her.

He nods, "We could go to the lake if you wanted." Peeta suggest.

My heart drops.

The lake, probably my favorite place and I haven't been there in forever it seems.

But then some kind of jealously or something strikes me and I realize I don't want to show Carter the lake.

I want to save it for Peeta and I's special moments and for our kids, if we ever have any.

However, I don't tell Peeta this.

He will say that I'm being unfair and I am.

"No, how about we just go to the park? I don't wanna drive all the way out there." I say, hoping he won't argue it.

"It's not far. I thought you'd wanna go?" Peeta asks me confused and maybe a little suspicious.

I shake my head, "No, I don't wanna take Carter out there. It's dangerous for a little baby. Maybe when she's older." I say, but probably not even then.

Like I said, it was mine and my father's place. Now, it's mine and Peeta's and one day, it'll be our's and our kid's place to go.

I love Carter with my whole heart but I don't want to take her out there.

"Okay." Peeta says, dismissing my words.

I make a new bottle for Carter and then the three of us go.

Peeta takes us to the only park in Twelve.

It's a pretty good sized park.

Lots of kids, lots of shade and lots of equipment.

Peeta pulls up to the park, "It's beautiful out today."

I nod my head, "Yeah." I say.

"What's wrong?" Peeta asks, knowingly.

"Nothing is wrong." I assure him.

There's something, but I don't know quite what.

Ever since we took her to the doctor, I've been really jealous of Carter doing things with Peeta and I.

I don't know why because it never bothered me before and it shouldn't bother me. She's a baby and she's very important to the both of us.

"Okay, well, let's go." Peeta says, getting out of the car.

I grab a blanket, the diaper bag and the bag with our lunch in it and I walk over to Peeta, who is getting a wide-awake Carter out of the back seat.

"Ready to go have some fun, Carter?" Peeta asks her.

She just blinks at him and I smile at her.

"Let's go." Peeta says, taking my hand.

I hold his hand tightly, just because and we walk to the somewhat empty park.

Being that it's almost summer time (for school kids), there's not many kids here.

I think school gets out in like a week or two, but I really don't know.
