Katniss POV-

"Where is Carter?" I ask him after awhile, remembering that this week, it's not just us.

He looks down, "I took her to Johanna, she's the only person I could think of." Peeta says.

I nod, "Well, we better go get her." I say.

Peeta nods and breaks away and walks straight to his car and I do too.

I can tell he's still really upset, maybe he thought I ran away?

I have been known for doing it on occasion.

Or he really thought something happened, probably that.

I follow him out to Johanna's house and we go inside together.

"So, you're not dead in the forest? That's great." Johanna greets me with a hug.

I roll my eyes and look to Peeta behind her who gives a hurt look.

"Nope, luckily." I say.

Johanna shrugs and we follow her to the living room, "How was she?" I ask, because Peeta doesn't really seem up for talking.

"Fine. She just slept the whole time." She says.

I nod, "Thanks for watching her." I say, picking up the carrier.

"No problem. I really am glad you're okay." Johanna says.

"Thank you." I say and Peeta follows me to the door.

"We need to get together sometime." I say, just to say something.

She nods, "See you two love birds later."

And with that, we go.

Peeta doesn't object when I put Carter in my car but just gets into his and leaves.

I follow behind him.

She wakes up just about the time we get back onto the main road.

"Did you have fun with Peeta and Johanna today?" I ask her.

She doesn't make a noise after that, maybe she's smiling or just went back to sleep.

When we get home Peeta goes in and makes dinner. I sit back at the island and watch him, with Carter in my arms.

So much for us getting to spend some time just me and him.

I know how he was looking forward to it and I was too, but I ruined it.

"Peeta?" I ask after awhile, not being able to stand the silence.

He looks up from whatever he was doing, "Yeah?" He asks softly.

He doesn't sound mad or sad, just neutral maybe.

Maybe he sounds normal.

"Are you mad at me?" I ask.

Peeta smiles a little and shakes his head and looks down, "No, I am not mad at you."

I look at his eyes and I can see he's being serious, "I'm sorry for ruining today."

"You didn't ruin it."

I nod my head, "I did too. You let me go out by myself even though it scared you to death and then I was dumb and fell asleep, I'm sorry I was just so relaxed and I've been extremely tired lately." I say.

Peeta smiles sadly, "Katniss, it's fine."

I shake my head, "We didn't even get to spend time together."
