Katniss POV- (The next day)

(On the phone with Bristol)

"Hey, how is everything going?" Bristol asks.

I shrug, still feeling a little down and out about yesterday.

"Fine, I guess." I say.

"Aw, Katniss."

"I'm fine. Just yesterday was one year ago that my sister died." I say, holding my breath.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" Bristol asks.

I let out a sigh.

"I'm okay. How is everything in Ten? We really really miss you." I say feeling like crying.

"Things, things are great here in Ten. My parents got me a little rent house out here. And they absolutely love Carter."

I frown.

I miss both of them so much.

"How is she?" I ask.

I miss Carter an awful lot.

I mean she was like Peeta and I's 'kid' whether any of us want to admit that or not.

I know Peeta misses her more than anything.

"She is okay, she likes all the attention. I know she misses you both, though. Everytime I talk about you guys, she starts looking around everywhere."

I pout my lip, "Aw, maybe later when Peeta gets up we can talk to her." I say with a chuckle.

Bristol laughs, "I bet she'd love that."

I laugh, "So, have you heard from Brandon?" I ask curiously.

"Nope. He agreed to divorce me and also just happened to give up visitation rights for his daughter." She says a little angrily.

"Are you serious?" I ask, shaking my head.

"Very."

"After all the fits he through about Carter being near Peeta and I or about him never getting to see her, he just gave up any right he had to see her when he's home?" I ask frustratedly.

"Basically. I married a good one, didn't I?" She shoots.

"Fabulous. But you didn't know what he was gonna turn out like after you married him." I defend her.

"No, I had known him most of my life but I shouldn't have slept with him, roughly three months before we got married either."

"But you got the sweetest baby out of it." I remind her.

Bristol laughs a little, "I did, my little princess." She says in a baby voice so I know she's speaking to Carter.

I chuckle, "So, either you guys need to visit or Peeta and I do. I miss you both, way too much." I tell her.

"We miss you too and we miss Twelve." Bristol says.

"So, that's means you'll come visit?" I laugh.

"Maybe soon but don't tell Peeta, just in case we can't. I don't want him to get his hopes up." Bristol says knowingly.

I agree.

"Speaking of getting his hopes up. He's really been having baby fever ever since Finn was born. Actually, since you told us you were pregnant with Carter and I really feel bad about it." I tell her.

"Why?" Bristol asks, confused a little.

"Because he's given me EVERYTHING." I tell her, not exaggerating a bit.

"And you feel bad because you aren't ready commit to it?"

"Yes." I say softly.

She sighs, "Maybe just try to think about it but, y'all just got married. So what's the rush?"

I frown, "I don't know. I know he's always wanted them but I'm just not ready. I love Carter and I love Finn but having my own baby to worry about, I'm not ready for yet."

"So, when do you think you'll finally agree?"

"I don't know. Maybe I'll end up waiting until his little asking agreement expires in two years."

"What's that?" She asks.

"I made a deal with him that he could ask me once a month and if I said 'no' then he leaves it at that but if I say 'yes' then whatever. Then I agreed that if I still hadn't said 'yes' by our second anniversary, I would agree to it as long as I didn't somehow end up pregnant between now and then."

"Okay, I think that's a nice deal. It gives him the power to ask but gives you some space at the same time."

"Yeah, it's almost time for him to ask but I don't think he will until next week or so..." I murmur.

"Yeah, just be try to be patient with him. He just wants a family and he wants a family with you, Katniss. It's very sweet of him."

"I know he wants a family and I know I can only give him that but I'll do it when we are both ready."

"Okay. Well, I need to go drop Carter off at my parents house and go to work." Bristol says.

"Alright, you have fun."

"I'll try." She giggles, "Bye, we love you guys. I'll try calling tonight so you guys can talk to Carter."

"Okay, we love you both too." I say and hang up.

A minute later, I hear footsteps.

"Good morning." Peeta says as he walks into the kitchen.

Kind of startled, I turn around.

"Good morning." I say, smiling awkwardly.

I really hope he didn't hear anything.

"Who was that?" He asks curiously, sitting down next to me at the kitchen table.

"Bristol." I say.

He leans forward and pecks my lips.

"I love you." I tell him with a sleepy smile.

He laughs a little, "I love you too."

"So, what do you want to do today?" I ask him.

"I don't care."

I frown, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, nothing's wrong."

I give him a look, "Peeta, don't lie to me."

He shrugs, "I heard your conversation with Bristol."

"Did I say anything wrong?"

He shakes his head. "No but I'm not going to say anything because you're right, I'm not going to ask again for a while." Peeta breathes.

I frown.

Last time he overheard my conversation with someone we had our very first fight.

"Okay." I say, leaving it at that.

He nods once, standing up and going to the fridge.

He pulls a few things out and sets them on the island.

"Please, don't be mad at me." I say.

"I'm not mad, Katniss. I promise you." Peeta tells me.

I want to believe him but I know him better than that, but I decide I don't wanna argue with him, so I leave it.

"Can we go to the store? I want to make you dinner tonight." I tell him.

"Why do you wanna make me dinner?"

"Because I want to, that's why." I shoot.

"Fine. Let's go to the store." He says.

I roll my eyes and go upstairs.

Now he's going to be cocky all day, I'm sure.
